Liz Cheney suffers impeachment vote blowback at home: 'Couldn't win a primary today for dog catcher'

Rep. Liz Cheney’s vote to impeach President Trump put her political future in jeopardy back home in Wyoming, revealed a state GOP official.

Doubts quickly surfaced about her viability in the 2022 GOP primary after she announced her support of impeachment and then led nine other House Republicans on Wednesday in voting to impeach Mr. Trump for inciting the deadly Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

“She couldn’t win a primary today for dog catcher,” said Martin Kimmet, chairman of the Republican Party in Park County, Wyoming.

Ms. Cheney, the No. 3 House Republican leader and the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, went from a rising star into a political nosedive virtually overnight.

“I’ve gotten a lot of phone calls, more than you could count. I have not gotten one in support of what Liz Cheney did,” Mr. Kimmet said. “What she did was wrong. Period.”

Mr. Kimmet wasn’t convinced. “I don’t care how she spins it,” he said. “What she did was wrong.”

I would not be surprised if investigations have been underway as related to her association with our money.

May this be the end of Liz Cheney's "political career".
Let us HOPE!

I have to wonder about the intellect of political hacks like Cheney...what the heck was she "thinking"?
One would think that if only from a political perspective she would have the brains to realize what she did could likely be politically career-ending.

If she wins her next primary, I will send money to her Democrat opponent.

The wife and I have agreed that we will financially support whoever opposes her in the 2022 primaries.

The good folks of Wyoming told themselves: She’s a hometown girl. She’s the daughter of a big wig in DC. If we vote her in then she’ll be able to send all sorts of federal money our way. Eventually she’ll rise to the top of the heap and we’ll be swimming in dough!

Back “home” is the Commonwealth of Virginia, not WYO.

May this be the end of Liz Cheney's "political career".

I hope so too, but what do we hear about those other RINOs, who voted with her? I hope their careers end too.

Ya know what I would love to see?? after she is annihilated by the vote, one of the guys escorting her out, as she steps across the threshold, give her a swift kick in the ass(Picture the way Moe kicks Curly) and watch her stumble and fall flat on her face, and as she gets up turning to see who did it, all she sees is the door slamming shut!!

To me, that would be Justice...

What short memories conservatives have. Elections are no longer decided by actual votes.

I do not see how Liz Cheney survives the 2022 Republican Primary in Wyoming.

Here is why Wyoming will remove Liz Cheney in 2022 primary.

1. Wyoming law stipulates that parties conduct open primaries for congressional and state-level offices. While a voter must be affiliated with a political party in order to participate in its primary election, any voter, regardless of previous partisan affiliation, may change his or her affiliation on the day of the primary.

2. Wyoming gave 193,559 votes to Trump and only 73,491 votes to Biden.

3. In the 2022 Wyoming Primary even if all Democrat voters cross over and vote for Cheney, that will not save her sorry butt.
