I just can’t get over how many on this db and elsewhere slam Pence for what is only a ceremonial role. Pence had and has no power to change an election outcome. I must admit, I get so disappointed in all this. It would be nice if Trump would at least acknowledge this point and come to Pence’s defense to stop this nonsense.
There must be a reason why Trump is being as tight lipped as he is.
I trust him, and for now I’m waiting to see what happens.
There’s simply too much going on right now to think that nothing is going to happen. But, if NOTHING does happen, then the American people will take it upon themselves to do something. No way we’re simply going to rollover to kleptocracy/communism, fraud, gaslighting...

You don’t get it. Pence WANTED to stab Trump in the back. He could have refused the responsibility. He could’ve turned it over to the Senate pro tempore Chuck Grassley. Just as Pence wants to attend Biden‘s inauguration. Pence is a traitor

In this case it was not only ceremonial, but it became an immoral role also because he knew he was tacitly condoning a lie. What exactly does the Constitution say about what the procedure is if the vice president simply refuses to open the envelope?

Nobody was asking Pence to change the election outcome. He was asked to send the outcome back to the legislators for a review of the votes.
Pence could have refused to count the electoral votes of certain states because of demonstrated fraud and turned it over to their respective state legislatures so they could send alternate electors. Is that statement true or not ? If not, what is the correct statement ?
Maybe Trump will say something really kind after he removes the knife in his back put there by Pence the Holy 🙏
Yea what happened to all the talk about waiting 10 days to investigate fraud. The faux riot initiated by BLM/Antifa was enough to move everybody on to the new crisis (must impeach) and no mention of fraud.

The low info posters keep accusing Pence of ‘certifying’ the election. Pence did not certify anything and he had no power to certify anything. It was the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives who voted on accepting or rejecting electoral ballots, not Pence.
