Gun manufacturer Colt, an American legend and Connecticut fixture for nearly 175 years, could come under European ownership in a deal being negotiated with a Czech firearms company.
Česká zbrojovka Group SE, or CZG, which is negotiating to purchase Colt Holding Co., said it has reached agreement on the outlines of a deal with the West Hartford gun manufacturer.

CZ has a custom shop in Arizona. I don’t think they have mfg. here.

The Czech Republic is still around. The Soviet Union isn’t. It looks to me like the Czechs won.
Have a CZ P-01 and am very happy with it. I’ve held the Walther PPQM2 and would like to pick one up eventually

May as well; the Biden administration is going to destroy it, anyway. It’s best that it be bought out by a foreign interest that is at least a nominal ally. Of course, any future Colt products will be banned from import to the U.S.
The Czechs made great armor in World War II. Panzer 35 and 38, Jagdpanzer 38, Marder III. Skoda had a late war design but it never went into production. The Czech weapons industry was always first rate.
And Oscar Schindler moved his armaments factory from Poland to Czech (and was born in what is now the Czech Republic).

Which is why CZ is buying Colt's U.S. manufacturing capabilities to complement those already here with CZ USA.
CZ USA also owns Dan Wesson.
At least we keep Colt out of the hands of the commies.

I'm sure quality will be great and I doubt if Colt will go anywhere.
A friend who spent 5 years in Czechoslovakia long ago still has contacts there. She said it looks like they’re moving back to communism, along with Poland & (I think) Hungary. Apparently too much pressure being exerted from Russia & China.
