I feel a bit like an extra in a big complicated movie.
But folks, this is real. I think if we use logic, martial law has to be declared. There’s no going back because if not declared, then the deep state wins through a massive fraud, in essence completes a communist revolution, and anyone can predict what the consequences of that will be.
I doubt that you’ll even have another real election, there will be some bogus “National Unity” party that will meet to select candidates and the election will be a choice between that uniparty candidate, the Libertarians and the Greens.
Well it is perhaps the only way the Libertarians would ever win the White House.
But seriously, if Trump doesn’t declare martial law then I would be quite surprised and disappointed. I think he should, the question is whether he would find enough military support to enforce it. Knowing the way he operates, he’s spent the past seven days or longer getting that support guaranteed and in place.
Also it makes sense to declare it well in advance of the deadline of the 20th, to wait until 18th-19th is to invite complete chaos, better to take in the coup plotters early and make it clear there won’t be an event in DC on the 20th.
I don’t know if the Constitution even handles this situation completely, the declaration of martial law between the counting and ratification of the EC vote and inauguration day means exactly what in terms of succession? Is the 2016 term extended indefinitely through the martial law, or does the 2020 term fall to Trump by default? Would they convene what’s left of the congress to recount the Electoral College perhaps with five states invalidated? Their electoral officials would likely be in jail.
In other news, Facebook just purged Ron Paul. No notice given.
Tough choice to call for Martial Law obviously...either way, the Republic is gone.
“Well it is perhaps the only way the Libertarians would ever win the White House.”
Not necessarily a bad thing. At least they’d leave us the f alone!
