Robert Edward Barnes is a criminal tax attorney, legal advocate, and political commentator. Barnes is the founder of Barnes Law LLP, a Los Angeles, California based law firm specializing in IRS investigations, tax fraud, asset recovery, and private banking.
Barnes was a law partner at the Bernhoft Law Firm. It was at Bernhoft that Barnes served as actor Wesley Snipes' tax defense lawyer alongside owner and managing partner Robert Bernhoft. In 2008, Barnes represented Snipes, who was charged with conspiracy to defraud the government. Snipes was acquitted of tax fraud but convicted of failure to file taxes.
Barnes has also represented eight Covington Catholic High School students and Alex Jones.
In 2019 Barnes began making weekly Sunday evening appearances on the Viva Frei law vlog YouTube channel with host David Freiheit.

Yay! Within a few minutes of hearing how Parler’s lawyers had left them high and dry, I had the thought that maybe Robert Barnes would volunteer, and was hoping that Parler would take him up on it. (Started watching Barnes around October of Viva Frei’s channel on Sunday and was very grateful for his insight, knowledge, and patriotism).
