So which country are you going to? The reason I’m asking is because I know a few people who are looking for somewhere to go.

A country that still values Western Civilization, and has Borders, Language and Culture. And people who know the horrors of living under Communism first-hand.
if you can afford central Europe... Germany, Switzerland or Austria, offer rural towns with train connections that mean you can go anywhere. I am lucky to speak a few languages, so am also considering buying a nice little Atlantic view cottage in Spain. I have a cousin in southern Germany who lives comfortably on $2000 euro a month salary. Rents are still much cheaper than in US.
