US sets grim milestone with nearly 4,000 COVID-19 deaths in one day

The United States set new records Wednesday for coronavirus cases and deaths, according to reports.

There were 268,840 cases reported, and 3,920 deaths, higher numbers than on any previous day, NBC News reported.

The new numbers bring the nation’s total 2021 case count to 1,345,873. There have been 15,120 deaths from the virus in 2021.

I was in the hospital on Tuesday for an outpatient procedure. No signs of over crowding, people dying of COVID and when I talked to hospital staff there was little concern. My surgeon greeted me with a handshake (no gloves) and no mask in pre-op. Don’t believe a damn thing you read in the media.

Nothing Trump did was worth spit it if was buried or distorted by the enemedia; I said leading up to the 2016 election that without control of media outlets (of any kind) the Republicans were done. The misinformation leading up to the 2016 election, and the four years of non-stop NeverTrump coverage 24/7, ensured that we Americans would never have a voice like Trump again. The Republocrats will never let one get through the primaries, and voting third party just ensures another government from one half or the other of the Republocrat party.

One thing the masks and distancing have done is to disincline you to do things. Want to go out to eat? Maybe, but with all the hassle and risks, why? Take a vacation? Go to church? The masks are making us biased against human contact and disinclined to socialize. All part of the plan, I fear.

that's true, for sure, in my own life. Thinking about looking for a new car? I can hold on to the old car for another year. Restaurant? Too much trouble. Haircut? I can do it myself.

It’s sickening what Newsom has done to California but it’s not like California hasn’t been sliding into socialism for years. I used to never vote for Dewine because his NRA rating was pathetic. I voted for him last time around because I had to. I think he has actually managed this crisis well though and he just signed a stand your ground law. If he were up for reelection tomorrow, I could vote for him without holding my nose. He’s way better than Kasich turned out to be, that’s for sure.

In Japan, if someone contracts the virus, he — and everyone he has ben in contact with — is quarantined. That would mean everybody who rode on a commuter car with him would be quarantined.

More BS data. People die of various causes, but if they are then found to have been COVID positive they will be recorded as COVID deaths. ...Many storys about auto crash, gun shot, heart attack, etc., deaths documented as deaths from COVID.
