That’s a great screen capture. Yes, it doesn’t look like an officer at all in that picture. Looks like an older white guy with a receding hairline and glasses, obviously dressed up as you pointed out with the cufflink.

Who’s the guy in the suit and tie who bends over to help her? A little overdressed for that crowd.
Another site said it was a Congressman.
I don’t think whoever it was had much experience with operating a firearm.
His hand is definitely black. Cant see the face clearly though.
I don’t see how you can say it is a black officer.
I have watched the video frame by frame and can never see a patch of skin and the shooter is wearing gloves.
Another thing that makes me doubt that this is LEO at all is that the shooter is wearing a hood.
I have never seen a Capitol Hill police officer in a hoodie.
If the shooter is ever identified I doubt that it will be LEO.
That was not a police officer.
No way would an officer shoot an unarmed, non violent woman from that long a distance with fellow officers directly in the line of fire.
This was at best a bad shoot and quite probably an act of intentional homicide.

Do Capitol police dress in suits? That crisp white shirtcuff (along with the cuff link) seems odd. He also looks kind of shaky, the way he comes forward, shoots & then jumps back. I’m wondering if he was actually law enforcement.

I don’t think so anymore. All of the rumors had been that it was an officer, but it appears to be either very well dressed plainclothes security guard or someone who who worked there and had a gun.

Yeah, most officers I know grudgingly wear suits when they have to.
Can’t recall a police plain clothes officer who wore cuff links on the job.

Yes she was, trying to gain access to where members of Congress, perhaps even Pence, were being secured.
Any loss of life is tragic, but, she made a poor decision that day.

Uh, I think you can try to back her down or detain her before unloading your weapon. There were heavily armed police officers about 5 feet away from her.
