Cotton warned that if Congress threw out the electoral votes of states such as Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, where President Trump has alleged without evidence widespread election fraud, it would “take away the power to choose the president from the people.”
He said it would imperil the Electoral College and the voice it gives to smaller states like Arkansas and help Democrats “achieve their longstanding goal of eliminating the Electoral College.”
He said Congress if overrides the Electoral College’s vote, it would “take another big step toward federalizing election law.”
“Thus, I will not oppose the counting of certified electoral votes on Jan. 6,” he said.

Cotton is a Club for Growth guy.
Future Pennsylvania United States Senator Pat Toomey served as president of Club for Growth from 2005 until his resignation in April 2009.
“With regard to the 2016 Republican presidential primary candidates, the Club for Growth was critical of Mike Huckabee, Chris Christie, John Kasich, Ben Carson, Carly Fiorina, and Donald Trump.[153][154][155][156][157] In August 2015, Club for Growth President David McIntosh said that Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, and Ted Cruz are “the real deal candidates, the gold standard of the race,” and that while questions remained, Jeb Bush and Scott Walker showed some pro-growth stances”
“TThe Club’s 2015 congressional scorecard was based on 29 House votes and 25 Senate votes. Mike Lee was the only U.S. Senator to receive a perfect score. Ben Sasse was ranked second among U.S. Senators, followed by Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz. On the U.S. House side, John Ratcliffe, Tim Huelskamp, and Scott DesJarlais received perfect scores.[66]
The Club for Growth Foundation’s 2017 Congressional Scorecard was released in February 2018. Andy Biggs, a Republican from Arizona, was the only member of the U.S. House to receive a 100% rating. A total of 29 members of the U.S. House received a score of at least 90%. In the U.S. Senate, Jeff Flake, Pat Toomey, and James Lankford scored 100%, while four other Senators scored at least 90%.[67]
The Club for Growth’s 2018 Congressional Scorecard awarded twenty members of the U.S. House and five U.S. Senators scores of at least 90%. Four U.S. Senators (Jeff Flake, Mike Lee, Rand Paul, and Pat Toomey) and three U.S. Representatives (Justin Amash, Andy Biggs, and Paul Gosar) received perfect scores.”
At this point, it make perfect sense to take the result he produces AS the proof.
He is in the pocket of China inc.
Let’s see how things play out. He won re-election without even having a Democratic opponent so he has some flexibility others don’t to take a contrarian view. One Senator more or less supporting the challenge does not materially change what will happen, but pressuring state legislators could.
If one Senator is so important, would you all be equally thrilled if Mitt Romney changed his mind and got onboard?
There are few enough on our side to be writing Tom Cotton off just yet.
Disenfranchising voters is OKAY (insert diversity emoji with some type of stop-sign signal for designated wrong-voters) if you are disenfranchising law-abiding, free Americans.
And then, Promise, two or tree years down the road, they will check into all this "cheating malarkey".
NO, there must NOT be allowed any can kicking down any road.NO,NO NO!
It's now or never.
It's now or never!

You know, as a conservative I an naturally against liberally handing billions in cash as a show of solidarity. Seriously, printing excess dollars without a GDP to back it up is very bad economically. However, if they are just going to hand out wads of cash, at least the people will inject it directly into the economy out of necessity instead of foreign interests. But yes, I find it appalling that they were more interested in foreign interest giveaways than the American people and economy. Shameful, to put it modestly.
T-minus two days till we find out if we are a free nation or a vassal state of China Inc.
The tyranny you mention was largely taxation. “Freedom” in that day had a rather narrow interpretation and meant essentially “freedom from King George’s tax collectors”. Fast forward two centuries and change and we are so far in the hole you need scientific notation to keep it straight.
My personal thought is that a huge hole has been exposed in our Constitution.
A state can run an illegitimate election and there is nothing that other states can do about it.
If enough states knowingly run illegitimate elections, and their own legislatures do nothing about it, the nation can be legally overthrown by those who are treasonous.
I am not an attorney, but would appreciate either an attorney or constitutional expert to show me where I am wrong.
“Every MSM article I read opens with at least one gratuitous anti-Trump adjective - debunked, desperate, feeble...”
Yes. Unfounded. Baseless.
Etc...
Unfortunately many don't know what hit them.
The only thing I've seen is that he's listed as attending a 2017 Bildeburger meeting. When I was an elected official I arranged to attend all the meetings of groups my predecessor belonged to, just to see what malicious mischief he might have been up to that I should deal with.
None the less, the feverish chanting and chomping at the bit with purely unfounded speculation and erroneous "conneting of baseless dots" continues unchecked on this thread. How unlike the usual Christian Conservatives I've learned to like and love on this usually most rational website in this part of the world. So sad!!!
when they break from Trump..or speak against what he is doing...there is only one other side .. and that side is socialism.
I dont care how Trump fixes his hair..
I do love that he is not a politician..
I dont mind when he says something that could have been left unsaid.
I see what he is doing for us
I see he is transparent and does not talk like the swamp.
I see so much good that outweighs anything..
so for a repub to think stealing an election is ok.. I would not trust you with anything.
you would accept socialism on us because you dont care.. and you are not fit to serve!
Amen
Cotton knows his bread is buttered by Walmart. End of story.
The 'usual Christian Conservatives' are partially to blame for the mess we find ourselves in today, by turning a blind eye to corruption like you just did.

A deep dark world is being exposed.
The truth won't be for everyone.
Have faith in Humanity.
Apparently, the truth is not for you.
