Vice President Mike Pence asked a federal judge in Texas to deny a Republican congressman’s emergency request for a court order that would essentially allow the vice president to reverse Donald Trump’s election loss during a joint session of Congress Wednesday.
Rep. Louie Gohmert of Texas should have sued the U.S. Senate or the House of Representatives if he disagrees with the established way that Electoral College votes are counted, Justice Department attorneys representing Pence said in a filing Thursday.“The vice president -- the only defendant in this case -- is ironically the very person whose power they seek to promote,” the government said.
“The Senate and the House, not the vice president, have legal interests that are sufficiently adverse to plaintiffs.”Gohmert argues Pence can hand Trump a second term by simply rejecting swing states’ slates of Democratic electors and instead choosing competing GOP electors when the Senate and House meet jointly to open and count certificates of electoral votes. Election experts have said such a finding would create a major conflict of interest.
The House asked for the judge’s permission to file its own brief, in which it argues Gohmert is trying to “upend” Congress’ longstanding role in counting the votes of the Electoral College and invalidate the Electoral Count Act, which has governed the process since 1887.“The House also has a compelling interest in ensuring that the public’s confidence in the processes for confirming the results of the 2020 presidential election is not undermined by this last-minute suit, which would authorize the vice president to ignore the will of the nation’s voters,” House attorneys said in the request.In another filing Thursday, Colorado elector Alan Kennedy argued Gohmert’s lawsuit is based on flawed legal arguments and debunked claims of election fraud.

Suddenly everyone cares about the constitution and laws....well, VP can just change the laws mid stream and get it rubber stamped by a Trump loyalist. Someone will have to explain to me how that is any different than what the Rats just did with election laws nationwide. Play by their rules seize power and apologize later. It’s what they do.

So far, Vice-president Pence has appeared to be completely loyal and ideologically aligned with President Trump and is the heir-apparent to the Trump movement. However, he will forfeit this entirely if he hesitates in the least in doing everything that he can possibly do to uphold our democracy and stop this theft of this election. At that point his career will be over since he will have completely alienated himself from both sides of the Republican Party. He seems smarter than that, but he might well be secretly compromised by the left like so many other Republicans. We will soon know.

While Pence is demonstrating his character, the interaction between the state governments and the congress will decide the outcome.
How does she make them attend if they don’t want to? How does she get to even appear before them if they refuse her?

Vice President Thomas Jefferson and Vice President Richard Nixon would tell you quite differently if they were still here. Don’t believe the ill-educated MSM’s latest talking point. The vice president holds enormous power. VP Pence does have the constitutional power to award the presidency to Mr. Trump and the Vice Presidency to himself, and that would be for the best.
It is not just a 19th century rule, VP Nixon used the same power in 1961.

The ‘man of lawlessness’ seems to be rearing his ugly head these days- These last 4 years have proven that the left no longer even care about the law- they feel they are above the law and can commit crimes with impunity now-

Maybe I’m missing something, but didn’t my “lying ears” hear the Vice-President in three separate stump speeches for Loeffler and Perdue say that he and the president were going to fight until the bitter end to see that justice is done in this election?
Maybe just Maybe Pence is saying I don’t need a law suit to tell me to follow the Constitution!!!

I thought Pulitzer was touting a method that he said would expose fraud, IF he could test the ballots, but that so far he has not been able to test any ballots. If so, then he has not proved any fraud.
