Mitch McConnell has pitted himself against Trump during the president's final days in office

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has taken an uncharacteristic stance against President Donald Trump during his final weeks as commander-in-chief.

McConnell is leading the charge for the first successful veto override of Trump's presidency after the president vetoed the National Defense Authorization Act.

The Kentucky Republican is also doing eveything he can to derail a push for COVID-19 stimulus checks to be raised to $2000, which Trump has come out in support of in recent days.

McConnell is poised to win these battles but it could backfire and cost the GOP its majority in the Senate given the popularity of $2000 checks among voters, and the impending Georgia Senate runoff election.

It is time for someone to investigate how many times the turtle was rewarded for aiding China rather than working for the best interests of the United States.

Maybe the WikiLeaks documents will shed some light on his financial activities.

Remember, Hunter Biden is not the only person in DC that became very wealthy overnight.

GOOD! The Treasury isn't the public's ATM.

State your objections to American citizens getting $2,000

It's socialist, it's unconstitutional, it unfairly burdens future taxpayers, the increasing federal debt load it creates is a drag on the private sector growth rate, it's gives elected officials an easy excuse to not manage federal costs, it destabilizes the currency which actually reduces the value of everyone's money.... etc.

Why stop at $2000? Why not $20,000. Why not $200,000?

Mitch is gonna win this unless we Trumplicans turn out in force at his office and at MSM headquarters

He's going to win this, period. The GOPe masks are off and they are sticking the shiv between Trump's ribs now. It will be interesting to see what happens next. The GOPe and George HW Bush got away with reversing all of Reagan's legacy, so clearly they think they can do that again with Trump. Can they?

The Treasury isn’t the public’s ATM.

Mitch is fine with it being the ATM for foreign countries and defense contractors. I bet you don’t complain about our $7 trillion on Middle East wars? Most “conservatives” only complain about money spent on Americans in America. Show me your post calling for us to get out of Iraq. Syria and Afghanistan , and turning off the ATM for those wars and accusations.

Trump is different, he favors America First, which is why Mitch hates him.

Why not pay our $20,000?

Shall we pay out every month?

Seems pretty likely to me.

I sold my remaining shares at www.predictit.org for TrumpYES at 15cents, which was a bargain a month after the election.

GOPEs and RINOs are back to their usual stunts.

I would love 2 see Trump pull a Deus Ex Machina ending but I doubt it — there’s no machinery in the sideworks stages.

I think they will suceed in the steal but will they remain a viable political party after deposing their own President? I think they are miscalculating how much the base hates them and loves Trump, and how long our memory will be.

I am in favor of $10,000.

How often would you like that payout? Every month? Every quarter?

Imagine going to a restaurant, getting incredibly poor service, and demanding a refund.

Same thing.

Poster can answer for itself, but I took it as a typo. Wrinkled up pruNe of a man makes more sense given the context.
