SHREVEPORT, La. — Congressman-elect Luke Letlow has died after contracting COVID-19 last week, according to his campaign manager Andrew Bautsch.
Letlow, who just turned 41, was getting treatment in the intensive care unit in Shreveport, according to an announcement on his Twitter page last week.

Awww. What happened? Did the bad guy make you feel sad? Do you want to go to your safe place? Do you want to show me on the doll where the mean guy hurt your feelings?
Fresno and Kern counties are far more conservative leaning than Santa Clara or San Francisco. Likewise, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Texas, and the Dakotas. And they all have higher incidence of people disregarding mask, distancing, and lockdowns. And they all have higher mortality rates. Some by a factor of 4.
Those are FACTS. They don’t care about your hurt feelings.
Doctors and nurses are frustrated because people are disregarding mask and distancing requests, and consequently, thousands of Americans come in on stretchers and leave in body bags. Case in point: the late Luke Letlow.
Healthcare professionals are also frustrated because they are working long hours, and after a while, seeing so much needless death and suffering exacts an emotional toll. It is also frustrating to see the “Covid is a hoax” or “masks are ineffective” crowd (observe Mom MD, above) make things worse, not just for their own under-informed selves, but also for society in general and our valiant healthcare workers in particular.
No nurse or doctor loses sleep over the financial solvency of an HMO.
I’m afraid your 40 years of experience as crew chief for ACME Hospital Janitorial service does not qualify you to comment on this topic.
Have a wonderful 2021, and go ahead and say the final word. I will remain silent.
You have a nice year in 2021.
I disregarded the links to political websites. I don’t trust them and my time is too valuable to chase down political types pontificating about things they don’t know about.
I did look at the pubmed article because they understand scientific methods and statistical analysis.
The pubmed report entailed a study of a mere 32 subjects in two random groups, and found that subjects with children had higher “self-reported cold symptoms.” It also concluded by: “A larger study is needed to definitively establish noninferiority of no mask use.”
The study is completely inconclusive.
However, I provided you with HARD DATA that shows that even in counties where there is huge travel to China, mortality rates are far lower because of lockdowns and mask use.
This is the unfortunate position we find ourselves. People start with a preference (”I don’t like masks and lockdowns.”) and then extrapolate to a view (”masks and lockdowns are ineffective.”)
Then they tune in to people who conform to their world view, and tune out those who don’t. Collecting ad hoc, out-of-context anecdotes that conform to their view makes them feel good. Eventually they convince themselves that they are right.
When their world view is questioned, they lose the ability to evaluate the issues objectively, and instead, they take it personally.
Happens to people in the left, and right.
Because we all known i here coming out of china are truthful. You have lost your objectivity. There is not one shred of proof masks or lockdowns do anything to halt the spread of disease. Your blanket statement that drs and.nurses are frustrated with people not wearing masks is not true. I know many physicians who recognize how worthless the entire mask abs lockdown thing is including ID physicians among them. You’re is the bias. Have a great day
Q: What can you say about people whose writing is replete with spelling and grammar errors?
A: They probably don’t read much.
I would provide additional evidence of effectiveness of masks and social distancing in reducing person-to-person dissemination of respiratory droplets, and their ultimate effect in reducing transmission of disease caused by viruses embedded in the droplets.
But, reading apparently not being your forte, I see no value in it.
Have a wonderful 2021.
Very sad.
That said here’s said:
Some people die young and more so
ALL old people die.
This virus has the most legs under fake narrative promoters.
I say again no real bump in mortality Totals is there.
And another one.
You do not. see to remain silent. You have exposed yourself for all to see. Please carry on I shall not get in your way
A 41 YO has a 99.7% chance of survival. He must of had co morbidities.
He had a heart attack had to have surgery he actually died from complications from the surgery HOWEVER while in the hospital contracted Covid Newsmax had the actual story on 2 days ago!! He DID NOT die f Covid!!!
Dr Karen the facts don't support your fear mongering.

No. He did not contract it in the hospital. He announced that he had tested positive for COVID 11 days before his death. A few days later the congressman-elect was hospitalized. On December 23, a representative for Letlow said he was in "stable condition" in an intensive care unit and was receiving Remdesivir and steroids.
While in the ICU he underwent two procedures to treat a blood clot that he developed while he battled the coronavirus. Blood clots are a known and potentially fatal complication of COVID. Blood clots that travel to the heart or originate in the heart cause heart attacks.
He had no prior cardiac history. He would not have died from a heart attack had he not contracted COVID and developed the blood clot(s), ergo, he died from a complication of COVID.
And another scientist reads their head. Show me a post where I spoke of mortality rates? You are laughable
You are wasting your breath. facts mean nothing to those two. It’s all about what they think they know and read on google
I read he had an operation on a blood clot and then had a heart attack - died from the heart attack, I suppose.

You have any articles backing that up? I’ve only heard 70-75% effective at best. Love to see something that shows it even more effective.
