out of the way of what?Maybe from running into each other? Or just plain making a nuisance of themselves......? Surely you can figure that out.....

I had chopper duty for years at a big-market TV station. The concerns you cite never happen.
Ever.
Hope this helps.

It is not normal to ban news helicopters from the site of a crime, especially if the crime has already taken place and there are no known suspects on the loose in the immediate area, in which case police helicopters might want the airspace to themselves. As for being a "nuisance," they would simply fly over for a few minutes and take some footage, which is not being a nuisance. They wouldn't be flying around endlessly.

Maybe from running into each other? Or just plain making a nuisance of themselves. Could be, I would guess that they are planning on using military drones with highly sensitive sensors and don't want them to collide with some idiots $95 dollar drone.

They would use deadly force to stop reporters from being a nuisance? I mean, I'd say 'it's about time!' but in this instance I still have some questions about this.
