The franchise tax board is now:
CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF TAX AND FEE ADMINISTRATION
Fits nicely on the ‘pay to the order of’ line on a personal check.
NOT!
TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION won’t fly.
Calif did this years ago, got challenged, and lost.
Straight outta the Soviet Union
If that is the case, then if you move and must pay taxes to a California then you as need to vote in California elections! You know that old taxation and representation concept.
Nazis made the Jews pay to leave as well. You’d think the idiots in CA would realize their policies are driving people away.
‘The franchise tax board in CA is pure evil.”
These assholes are the laziest POS arm of the state govt here. They DONT care if you require time to pay off taxes. They wont listen to it. I know, I’ve been there. They are just there to collect taxes and lecture you at the same time.
Coming Soon.. the Great War of the States
What’s so great about losing all your freedoms ??
Ask the Uighurs.
I worked for about 8 months for a law firm in San Francisco, then moved to another state. A few years later, when I rented my dream house in Mendocino, I started getting notices from the CA tax board that I owed them money for my pension plan from the SF law firm. I went into their office and explained that I hadn’t worked there long enough to be eligible for pension plan but that didn’t stop them. They said right to my face that I owed them money and they could garnish my account.
I was expecting a really large check. Called a bank in Spokane, WA and asked them if I needed to live in WA to open an account. Was told no and that CA people did that all the time. Fedex delivered my huge check, waited a minute for me to fill out address of Spokane bank, and off it went.
A lot of CA citizens probably do this and the state Nazis know it.
TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION
“..These people suggesting such a thing should be fed through a wood chipper....”
Slowly and feet first. Any other way is waaaayyyy too kind.
I'm not sure I have the dates right, but I imagine it was in the 1960's ... my dad introduced me to a well educated, well dressed professional man from India, a recent immigrant to the U.S., who had converted all the family wealth into gemstones which he and his wife had swallowed before leaving India. They recovered the family fortune the usual way after escaping the country. I don't know if the U.S. was their first port of call; nor do I know what they declared on entry. They had done this to evade India's exit taxes. Hollywood should make a movie about this, set it in California in the near future, and recruit Tom Cruise for the lead since he likes to do all his own stunts.
Yep, to go along with the rampant representation without taxation we have in this country.

cant tax people not living and working there
socialists are greedy little piggies
they try and claim capitalists are
you’re a capitalist if you want to keep what you earn and notm give it to the socialists
“The IRS effectively does this to ex-pat citizens.”
I thought about that, too. It’s one of the most oppressive things we do. The difference is that up to this point when you moved out of a state hey stopped collecting taxes. Also, what happens if you have lived in many states? Do they all claim you as a citizen for tax purposes?
Hard to feel sorry for the people who have stayed there as long as they did...propping up that horrific government.
Anyone on the fence about moving is going to decided better move NOW than later. California's so stupid.
You could sue, but you won’t have standing. Nobody will have standing except democratic party members.
If I buy a 25th floor condo in Manhattan for pennies on the dollar, can I bring my Texas taxes with me?
