‘Festivus’ Airing Of Grievances By Sen. Rand Paul Spotlights Government Waste

U.S. Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) has got a lot of problems with you people. And today, you’re gonna hear about them.

Paul posted his annual online salute to government waste as part of today’s Festivus celebration. He issued a 139-page “Festivus Report” that airs his grievances about $54 billion of federal spending he sees as “totally wasted money.”

Festivus, for the uninitated, was a noncommercial holiday made up by Frank Costanza (played by Jerry Stiller) on the classic Seinfeld sitcom. Each December 23, Costanza, rejecting the crass commercialism that has built up around the Christmas holiday, opted for a Festivus dinner, an unadorned aluminum pole as a substitute Christmas totem, and the annual “Airing of Grievances,” followed by “Feats of Strength.”

The episode refers to the holiday as “a Festivus for the rest of us,” and quickly became part of the cultural zeitgeist.

Paul took up Costanza’s rejection of the status quo in his annual message deriding government waste.

The senator’s Top 10 grievances included:

About $1.5 million the National Science Foundation devoted to research that involved walking lizards on a treadmill; Almost $20 million the Federal Aviation Administration spent to renovate an airport taxiway over on Nantucket Island that’s “most often used by private jets,” with some of the funds coming from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security, or CARES, Act. Over $10 million the Federal Emergency Management Agency designated for buying test tubes for coronavirus testing, only to receive mini-soda bottles instead; About $2 million the National Institutes of Health provided for research into whether hot tubbing is able to reduce stress. “It is more important than ever for Congress to find its fiscal backbone. Our debt puts at risk the long-term solvency of major programs such as Social Security,” the Senator said. “And why?

Why not just forget about spending $52 billion and just give every US Citizen $1 million dollars ($380 Million total)? We will save $51.62 Billion, the economy will come roaring back, students will be able to enroll in college without taking on massive debt, etc.

just give every US Citizen $1 million dollars ($380 Million total)?

You need to work on your decimal point placement. $1 million X 380 million = $380 trillion.

330,000,000 X 1,000,000 = 330,000,000,000,000..

Might have to take a few zeros off the planned 1 million dollar per person give away amount. The bar tab would be 330 TRILLION.

Dr Gorka stated that at $600 per working age person, the total cost would be 150 billion dollars. The COVID Relief bill is for 1.4 trillion dollars. The amount above and beyond the human cost is a whopping 1.25 trillion dollars! They are selling us down the river. Of course they are pawned, owned and compromised, by the CCP and who knows how many other masters.

President Trump said to give everyone $2000. Using Dr Gorka’s ratio of 250,000,000 working age Americans, the total cost is 500 billion. At that rate, there is still 900,000,000 billion dollars left over in the bill.

Even if the bill was only 900 billion dollars, 400 billion dollars would be available for the critical projects in the bill.

We have caught them red handed because FINALLY Americans are waking up and paying attention to what THEY are doing to us and what they are doing to our country RIGHT UNDER OUR NOSES.

My fellow countrymen, Republicans and Democrats alike- it’s gallows and guillotine time!

The Deadline site post contains so little of Rand Paul’s Festivus report, and no link to it, and a ton of crap about, who cares about, Ben Stiller.

I am beginning to think that Rand Paul belongs on the USSC.

Far less costly to campaign every 6 years.

LIFETIME position.

COMMON SENSE.

BTW-—A person DOES NOT have to be a lawyer to be on the USSC.

I don’t know if Rand is a lawyer-—alot of Congress is.

There might be 389 million in the USA-—BUT I double guarantee you they ALL afre NOT citizens.

Get it back to the citizens at about 300 million.300 million times a million==$380,000,000,000= $380 TRILLION.
