President Trump appeared to threaten to veto the COVID-19 stimulus package that Congress passed almost 24 hours earlier, telling lawmakers to boost checks for Americans to $2,000 as well as “get rid of wasteful and unnecessary items” in the spending bill
Trump said “throughout the summer, Democrats cruelly blocked COVID relief legislation in an effort to advance their extreme left wing agenda and influence the election…”
“it’s taken forever” to get a package and the bill passed “is much different than anticipated.”
“It really is a disgrace,” he added.
Then reeled off a list of disgusting ‘pork’ (read the details here) that has been piled into this record-breaking 5,593 page bill.
As Axios notes, many of the items Trump listed, such as foreign aid, which were not related to COVID-19 are not part of the coronavirus relief package. These form part of the government funding bill, which was passed alongside the coronavirus relief package.
Then he took a shot at Biden and the election
“Send me a suitable bill or else the next administration will have to deliver a COVID relief package and maybe that administration will be me and we will get it done.”

ahh, so now we know Mitch’s talking point
Pork not part of the stimulus bill.
Was reading today where Chuck Schumer and Mitch McConnell have decided that the Senate will come back on the 29th of December to override any veto that Trump may put on the bill
Give “the people” the $2000.00 and tell the college kids to pay their OWN debt.
I think that was for the Defense Bill.
Give a listen...

bill gates is getting 3 billion
why is he getting 3 billion
use his own darn money
Unfortunately, I believe the bill passed both houses with veto-proof majorities.
For what? I cant read the whole bill.
He did not put any veto on the bill nor did he sign the bill he told them to amend it or the next administration who ever it may be will have to come up with a covd bill.
Trump holds the trump card here. He can hold the legislation for ten days (excluding Sundays) while deciding whether to sign it or to veto it. Because this Congress expires on 3 January, the legislation dies automatically on that day unless Trump signs it. Even if he does veto it, and Congress attempts an override, the distinguished members of Congress cannot feign ignorance believably about the actual contents of the bill, especially since the President explained it so plainly before the American people.
Unfortunately, I believe the bill passed both houses with veto-proof majorities.

The only time you really know if it’s veto-proof is if it gets sent back.
I want to see Republicans try to defend this steam pile of a bill after Trump sets it on fire.
If they do how does this look for the GOP for the Georgia runoff here’s a hint not good
He didn’t sign it so, no veto over ride
It is incomplete
That is obscene. Gates getting millions of taxpayer dollars? Wrong.
I support Trump if he vetoes this piece of crap.
OK, the broadband 7 billion, RDOF, Rural Digital Opportunity Fund, is rural broadband. During COVID, the broadband infrastructure or lack of it was exposed. This is not backwood Kentucky. It’s places like San Luis Obispo and Monterey, Coos Bay and Brookings, Spokane and Boise, Sedona and Flagstaff, and places like that. Our rural broadband speed was horrible sand kids who were sent home to do online studies couldn’t in large portions of the USA.
It’s the only pork I see that is needed. Schools need the money to pay the retirement funds because the states can’t collect taxes because too many people are out of work. States like California have too many redundant departments and those costs keep them from supporting schools and teachers
not millions
BILLIONS
as per what I read
have not independently verified
Yes. I believe it would expire after such a length of time.

Make them own it
Instead of Trump
