How will we cope if things just get worse?

Last week there was some hopeful Christmas news regarding COVID-19. Pfizer's vaccine was approved with Moderna's close behind. Both are now being administered. However, news from the U.K. in an article on Dec. 20 in Self-Reliance Central has thrown cold water on that hope. The title of the article is self-explanatory: "European countries ban flights from UK as government warns potent new strain of virus is 'out of control.'" It is too early to know if the new vaccines will work on this alleged new strain. Regardless, this conveniently timed scare could sow doubts and justify extending the lockdowns well into 2021.

There was some other good but short-lived news about COVID last week. It appeared that the AMA had approved the off-label use of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) to treat COVID-19 after months of resistance. Months ago, Yale epidemiology professor Dr. Harvey Risch said hydroxychloroquine, if used properly, could save between 75,000 and 100,000 lives and can also be taken safely as a preventative. Fewer deaths may have lessened the need for the disastrous lockdowns and reduced the importance of the vaccines. His findings were published in the May 27 American Journal of Epidemiology to no effect. shortly after Rush Limbaugh mentioned the AMA proposal to approve off-label use of HCQ, it was quickly revealed to be a misunderstanding. However, the use of HCQ was actually proposed in AMA resolution 509, but it was ultimately rejected. Whether or not politics as usual drove the AMA decision, the result will likely be many more avoidable deaths, hospitalizations, and lockdowns.

Not to be outdone in the bad news department, the investigation into the alleged, very obvious planned voter fraud has been painfully slow. Many on the right have already decided to be polite and surrender, knowing that the militant Antifa and BLM enforcers

Appear to our kids and grandkids as a source of embarrassment for letting them down.

How HAVE WE coped as things just kept getting worse. We talk about people sacrificing their lives for our country. That’s sort of easy since it is really involuntary. You don’t shoot yourself.

What is more difficult is sacrificing your comfort. John Adams talked of this.

So, you are gainfully employed. You have a wife and three kids. You’re not behind in your bills and you have a life most in the world only dream of having. What’s it gonna take to get you to break federal laws for political purposes?

That’s the problem.

That’s why Antifa can do what they do. They are people that really have nothing to lose either because they are losers already or so young as to not really have succeeded and really have no hope. It’s easy to act out when you have nothing to lose. It’s a bit more difficult when you have a LOT to lose.

I think back to my parents who survived not only the Great Depression, but WW2. Yes things are tough, but we haven’t begun to reach what they experienced.
Perhaps that is why they are called the Greatest Generation.

"The worse" would be the total economic and social collapse of the United States.
It will come much sooner than most think.

The best we can do is prepare to feed and protect our families.

Why aren’t news broadcasts asking people living in close quarters to take 5000 IU of vitamin d3 a day, 10,000if they are over 65? Why isn’t there a charity offering it for free? Why is this not mentioned? If even the elderly could have a blood level over 60 of D, they won’t have that bad a case.

1-Have Faith in God, not man.

2-Have a plan for self-defense so that you're not this guy:

Every person has a breaking point or their own line in the sand.

I fear we are going to see more people on both sides of the aisle find it. We are in for some ugly times.

In reality, Biden is just a different face on the same coin for the anarchist left. The main driver of extremism on the right is usually the 2nd Amendment and Biden is going to oblige them.

“The one positive from this is that the year of social and political chaos has exposed all who are blissfully naïve, self-serving opportunists or actively working to fundamentally transform the nation into a godless green socialist utopia run by self-anointed globalist elites who will ruthlessly socially engineer every aspect of life for everyone else. A compliant MSM along with China’s model social credit system that Google helped design will assure the necessary conformity. The only thing remaining for conservatives is the heavenly hope many of us have in Christ.”

It is fair to say that the “greatest generation” and their predecessors were much tougher and wiser than our society is today.

I completely agree. Many of us on the right are constrained by the love of Jesus.

But many are not. That is what concerns me. Well, in a way. And make no mistake. This time it is most definitely different. If biden is sworn in, we’ve all witnessed a coup in broad daylight. Plenty of that latter group will snap. And the fallout from the virus next year will put a lot of people in a “nothing to lose” position. That is NEVER good, except when it motivates people to demonstrate “courage” that was lacking when they were “comfortable”.

I think there are thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of ticking time bombs out there. And Biden actually being sworn in will set a lot of them off.

This just dawned on me- This new ‘more contagious strain’ of virus is being hyped right now because the left are gearing up for when biden takes over IF he ends up stealing the election, and the virus infects millions more and biden’s po0licies fail- which they will- they can blame it on a ‘more virulent strain’ then

Get ready for massive amounts of commercials and public announcements declaring how horrible the new strain is- We’re already seeing ‘experts’ opining breathlessly over it- despite a lack of evidence apparently that it’s actually more virulent, and not simply just ‘more contagious’ but less dangerous
