This is military PR, and the type sure sounds like it.
The question is, is the Navy going to let the USS Georgia resupply at Bahrain, or is this a signal to Iran / Houthi to lay off over Christmas?
And what is that big 'ole tub doing bolted to her deck?

Aren’t submarines suppose to not be seen?

Why was she surfaced? I though we tried to keep the location of ssnbs as quiet as possible.

I think that’s a giant airlock for SEAL/SpecOps sorties.

Look up gunship diplomacy. The Navy had a long history of this.

I suppose the thinking is that a show of force is useless if it can’t be seen.
that’s the best I can do.

Probably also to send such a signal during transfer of power to the new administration.

Isn’t that a small submersible for putting SPecial forces close to land?
Or have I been watching too many movies.

The Georgia was converted to Cruise missiles as part of an arms deal and carries the designation of SSGN. The pod on the top may be a seal delivery vehicle.

There was a time when announcing submarine movements was a federal offense. I guess things have changed since the good ole days
To: texas booster
Hmm, wonder if Iran will send a dinghy and try to board her.
