There were "raised voice levels and animated conversation" during a chaotic Friday night meeting with President Trump in the Oval Office, a source familiar with the meeting tells Axios.
Driving the news: As the N.Y. Times first reported yesterday, the meeting included — at various times — Rudy Giuliani, Gen. Michael Flynn and conspiracy-minded election lawyer Sidney Powell.
Chief of staff Mark Meadows and counsel Pat Cipollone pushed back strenuously on some of the more far-out ideas, including impounding voting machines and making Powell special counsel for election fraud.
"It's basically Sidney versus everybody," the source said. "That is why voices were raised. There is literally not one motherf—r in the president’s entire orbit — his staunchest group of supporters and allies — who doesn't think that Sidney Powell should be on that first rocket to Mars."
"These are the hardcore defenders. This is the one thing that has united people."
Between the lines: The obvious exception, of course, is the president of the United States.
Axios is full of shit fake news.
Actual mtg. was concerned with yelling at Trump judicial appointees by John Roberts ;-)
This has been debunked
Raised voices in the WH from a no name “source” .... crapola. If Trump tweets “yeah, we were getting a little loud & yelling at each other”, then I’ll believe it.
Actually, if Michael Flynn was there then of course he supported Sidney strongly!
A nothing burger
What happened to the rest of Trump’s legal team? Bondi, as one example.
I can certainly believe that Trump has advisors who caution against taking any kind of decisive action.
Ok, this is funny. I don't care what you think.
It's also true.
The Oval Office is sound proof. Those standing outside its walls cannot hear anything spoken inside the office. This is an absurd assertion. Attorneys are NOT going to allow non-participants to be present for client-attorney conversations. And the staff outside cannot hear. In addition, Every single Powell press appearance and meeting, as well as Flynn appearance, has been remote from the same backgrounds. This has all the hallmarks of FAKE NEWS from non-existent sources. None Dare Call It Fiction!
Jonathan Swan has been shown to be a fabricator before.
I believe Powell.
I’ll be there on the 6th.
Where?
The establishment republicans along with the democrats really fear Powell. One reason is because they fear exposure since they have used those Dominion machines for their own advancement.
Giuliani gave reference to this meeting in an interview on Friday morning’s war room (before the NYT story broke). So, most likely it happened. However, I think the important topic was the naming of a special council to investigate the fraud and who that should be. Giuliani supported an investigator, but insiders opposed.
Jonathan Swan is a national political correspondent at Axios covering both ends of Pennsylvania Avenue.
Axios is an American news website based in Arlington County, Virginia. It was founded in 2016 and launched the following year by former Politico team members Jim VandeHei, Mike Allen and Roy Schwartz. The site's name is based on the Greek: ἄξιος (áxios), meaning “worthy”.[1]
Axios’ articles are typically brief and matter-of-fact: most are shorter than 300 words and use bullet points so they are easier to scan. In addition to news articles, Axios produces daily and weekly industry-specific newsletters (including Allen's Axios AM, a successor to his popular Playbook newsletter for Politico),[1] two daily podcasts and a documentary news series on HBO.
First, the judiciary branch shouting at the Roberts/USSC meeting.
Now the executive branch shouting at the president's meeting.
Just need Fake News shouting from the third remaining branch to complete the trilogy.
