The government will help farmers mitigate climate change by paying them to “put their land in conservation” and plant cover crops, said President-elect Biden, providing some details on his campaign call to offset greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture. The sector accounts for roughly 10% of emissions nationwide.

Somebody who knows farming, please help me out here. If 100 acres of corn or broccoli will not offset green house gasses, how will a cover crop do the job?

I believe the ultimate outcome will be to import food from China while American farmers are paid to plant nothing.

The FSA has been doing this for some time. I have farm land where they decided farm land wasn’t needed. They pay a conservation easement to assist us in growing timber on once-fertile crop fields. Big Farm took over and the small family farms just aren’t what they were.

How about building a baseball field (like in Field of Dreams)?

In February I plan to become a farmer if Joe’s President. I think we all should become farmers!

Complete lunacy. Biden and his crisis cockroaches are brain-dead imbeciles in diapers.

Utter insanity. Soybeans is a “cover crop”—why wouldn’t you grow them?

Biden’s handlers would have us transition to Soviet-style collectivism. I can’t wait to work pulling up turnips in Turnip Collective #163.

Just another variation of paying farmers to not grow food.

I wonder if the payments depend on what crop you aren’t growing. Can I get more money for not growing wheat on my land than I get for not growing corn on the same land? What if I decide not to grow strawberries - does that increase or decrease my profit from not farming?

Growing corn to use as a dilutent fuel component in gasoline is criminal.
