WI Supreme Court Rejects Trump Suit

Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Brian Hagedorn must be a eunuch. He wrote the majority opinion against Trump. This was a 4-3 ruling that relied upon laches. Then Hagedorn added a concurring opinion in which he recited all of the mistakes that were made and the laws that were broken in the conduct of the 2020 election with the aim of making improvements in future Wisconsin elections. What a rube! How about getting the correct result this time!

That argument is a cop out. Every illegal or fraudulent vote dilutes the legal votes by cancelling them out. Even a small number of illegal ballots can change a close election. When there are a large number, the fraud becomes obvious. The issue becomes the proper remedy, but this court didn't even get that far. With enough time, a court could order new elections. When it is obvious which party committed the fraud, and the same party is benefiting from it, then tossing those votes should be an easy call.

Well they weren't mistakes. It was a deliberate campaign to steal the election. Yes, the use of voter tabulation software creates a problem unknown around 30 years ago, of which people have finally taken notice. Hagerdorn is a politician trying to straddle both sides of the issue. With the short window of time between the election and Electoral College meeting, laches should never be a defense, particularly considering that the challenges can't be filed before certification, etc. It's just a court dodging its responsibility and enabling a big mess, and undermining confidence in our elections.
