I doubt Michigan’s legislature will do the right thing.

There is certainly that risk. It will be on the people of Michigan to ensure they do their jobs. You know the left will be trying to stop them, so we must exceed that effort.

But his point is correct. And it applies to everything at the Supreme Court. Everything, including applications and motions, gets a docket number and ends up on the Court’s docket as part of the process. You can search the Court’s electronic docket and see tons of requests for stays or injunctive relief and so forth that were docketed before being denied.

The justices have not done a thing about the Texas case yet that indicates anything. No reason for anyone to be happy yet.

I think these other lawsuits that have been filed with scotus are the reason why they refused to hear the one today, from Trump’s team. So, IMHO, that refusal is not as bad as it sounds. We’ll see.

Yep, but I think this case is of such Constitutional importance, the Justices must hear and decide the case.

In addition to addressing the vast election fraud, this give the Court to also rule on the very Constitutional issue and declare the other issues moot.

Time for Roberts to prove his comment about There being no Democrat or Republican judges.
This should go 9-0 for Texas.

Okay, puts them on the spot but I still figure Robert’s will thread the needle, say constitution violated but votes stand as voters must be respected.

So how will Roberts justify disenfranchising 75+ million voters?

In a way, he is correct. It's not about Democrat or Republican, but swamp or patriotic.

“Amazing SC agreed to take on Texas case so quickly.”

______________

The supreme court has not agreed to anything. The filing asks the Court for permission to file the suit. Not there yet unless you know something that isn’t posted on the Supreme Court’s website

“Will be heard” or “will be given a cursory examination and dismissed”?

Yes, but “dealing with the case” doesn’t mean they have to actually do anything. They could simply dismiss it without hearing any arguments.

SCOTUS has acted, and is requiring responses:

Dec 08 2020
Response to the motion for leave to file a bill of complaint and to the motion for a preliminary injunction and temporary restraining order or, alternatively, for stay and administrative stay requested, due Thursday, December 10, by 3 pm.

Once he voted to uphold Obamacare on the basis that the penalty for failing to insure as an individual was a tax when it had been called a fine all along he lost ALL credibility. I see no reason why, based on that ruling, there is anything the government cannot do to us simply by imposing a “tax”. What would stop the congress from passing a law requiring every American to purchase a quart of milk or a pint of whiskey every week with a tax to be imposed for failure to comply?
