The attack that killed the alleged architect of Iran’s nuclear weapons program on Friday was carried out from afar using a remote-controlled machine gun attached to a car, a leading Iranian news site reported Sunday.
According to the semi-officials Fars news site, the entire operation was conducted with no human agents whatsoever, a significantly different description of the attack than has been presented until now. The account was not attributed to official sources and was not immediately confirmed by Iran. According to the outlet, the assault took place over the course of three minutes as Mohsen Fakhrizadeh — a brigadier general in Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and a key figure in the country’s military research-and-development program long regarded by Israel and the US as the head of its rogue nuclear weapons program — traveled with his wife toward the resort town of Absard, east of Tehran.

SA ?
That was a following car. Take a look at the dashboard-— three chunks of jaw with teeth are splayed on the middle dash.
The first shot on the driver of this car (who was not the nuke scientist) was from the driver rear panel window forward— and blew the dude’s jaw off. And two from the front for good measure.
The car the scientist was in was blown to smithereens and part of the hood and roof top can be seen about 100 yards in front of the follow car. The license plate in Farsi- does not id the follow car as the targets. Just a few observations.
Sooooo—sound like they had a ground team to take out the follow car- and one of them was blown away and the body dragged off (whole pile of person ketchup on the tarmac, and shattered bone/skull fragments as from a antipersonnel mine).
All they took back of Soleimani, from the Baghdad airport access road was a portion of his hand complete with identifying sapphire ring. That was all. Global Hawk drone and several missiles on target.
Another thought-— Saudis have their own Predator drones.
Somebody’s been watching too many movies.
The front and side photos of the car Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was supposedly traveling in showed a very tight placement of a few bullets on the windshield and none visible on the doors. Would seem incongruous with a drone-machine gun
Version II PING.
SUVs are dangerous.
The Iranian first responders themselves would have opened that door to get to and remove the dead and injured so an open door means nothing.... though I think an extraction would be desirable in order to get information from him in order to plan future strikes. Then again, the Israelis already acquired the mother load of information in the warehouse raid a while back.
While Israel remained officially mum on the killing of Fakhrizadeh and its alleged role in it, an Israeli minister publicly praised the results of the operation.
“The assassination in Iran, whoever did it, it serves not only Israel, but the whole region and the world,” Energy Minister Yuval Steinitz told the Kan public broadcaster on Sunday.
In other words, there were guys on the ground who knew what they were doing.
With Us It’s Never An Accident
Guess that includes you, doesn’t it?
By the HARP #2 is sitting, lightly rusted at Yuma Proving Ground, all 120 feet of it.
I joked to my fellow experimenters that “all it would take is one Marine and some WD-40 and we’d have that puppy ready to go again”.
I'm thinking the guy was trying to Defect. Either way the less of the crazy ragheadscum IMO the better.

Re those guns, it’s actually pretty impressive what he did. Just a pity that neither Uncle Sam nor the Canucks found a use for his talents.
“They must have watched the last episode of Breaking Bad.”
My 2 boys loved Breaking Bad and talked about Walter White. Me?...never saw it.
I saw BB slot machines at the casinos...never played those either. I know one thing...

My thoughts exactly.

Did not know that. Thanks, John. Drones are good workers in the hive.

Sheesh...my brain just sent my memory off on a tangent...again. Happenslots.
Jimmy Webb had some great songs.
From what I hear, they stopped financing the HARP project because the war in Vietnam was taking all of the money. Bull tried to get backing for gun projects all over, working for a while for South Africa back when SA was a world pariah for apartheid, developing their own self-propelled version of the GHN-45 cannon.
Likely, it was his pursuit of money that took him to Saddam Hussein's gunpark.
Personally, if I got a call from somebody with an Israeli accent warning me not to work for one of their enemies, I'd pay attention.
Like Clockwork Orangeman. On time, under budget. Crazy mind of Kubrick. Speaking of crazy minds/drones...
