Is she struck with it? That would wake her up. Do they shine it in her cell to see that she’s okay? That wouldn’t wake a soundly sleeping person.
As an aside, I disagree with the practice of jailing someone without bail and scheduling their trial for a year or more later. That’s not right.

Couldn’t they strap her with some kind of vital-sign monitors like they do in telemetry wards in hospitals? Red alert if she stops breathing or sudden changes in heart rate, bp etc?
They could do that, I hear the best monitors of that type
are made by Dominion...

Somehow I can’t imagine Ghislaine Maxwell killing herself. I could however see a scenario where people were publicly concerned about her killing herself and then, what do you know? she kills herself.
