(CNN)Members of the Texas National Guard were mobilized to El Paso County, Texas, to help with the morgue crisis as the state battles a surge in coronavirus cases and deaths.

A team of 36 National Guard troops has been deployed to "provide mortuary affairs support," according to the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM). The team was mobilized Saturday morning "after completing an assessment of the situation on the ground in El Paso County this week," TDEM spokesman Seth Christensen told CNN. "As we've seen a rapid increase in cases and hospitalizations, we are unfortunately also seeing a spike in deaths. We have been working closely with funeral homes and mortuaries to assist with increased capacity and coordination of resources," El Paso Mayor Dee Margo said in a statement on Twitter. "The Texas Military will provide us with the critical personnel to carry out our fatality management plan and we are very grateful to them for their ongoing support."

Well, the Army has mobile crematoriums. That's a fact.

China (countless, seriously) and Russian (Kamaz) have companies supplying their armies mobile crematoriums.

I am not a Texican but I can tell you that a giv
eaway phrase like “an unfortunate spike in deaths”, when you mix it in with mention of “hospitalizations” and “cases” (both of which are meaningless), you’ve already come a LONG way toward achieving this weeks fearmongering goals. What’s unfortunate are not the deaths, but the lie behind their probably “spike”. Who says any of them is due to Covid, or even has anything to do with the “cases” and “hospitalizations”? This is just a continuation of the ongoing theatricalization of the fearmongering which is being ratcheded up to justify the latest round of lockdowns. Let’s get some first-hand testimony from the National Guard dispatched there. Add this to your question about anybody “on the ground”knowing anything about this. They might have something interesting to say about it. I suspect it’s all BS, and the creation of an optic. A lie.

Several months ago there was an article about Texas hospitals being deluged with Mexicans with the virus coming across the border for treatment. I suspect they continue coming and probably those with late stages coming across the border.

Very simple.
Illegals are sneaking over for free medical care at our expense

There were 133 deaths attributed to Coronavirus in Texas yesterday.

We are supposed to believe in a state the size of Texas that these numbers would necessitate the National Guard?

El Paso couldn’t handle 247 dead people. that’s the long and short of it.

One thing to remember is the very limited number of morgue spots in a hospital. It doesn’t take a lot to run out of space. People need to ask basic questions like, how many people die in you facility every day? How many spots in your morgue?

No one ever does.

When are we going to punish China for all of this? I’m tired of blaming the President for an insidious enemy attack. It’s nonsense.

You will have to wait to see who is president next year. One president has said China will pay for this. The other guy said we will pay China.

The elephant in the room? El Paso is a border town. Trump shut the borders because Mexico is having a spike in Covid, and those with the illness are trying to get over the border.

Biden will let them all in, and we will have perpetual Covid, and the media will say, “How did all this spike happen? The Trumpists must be going to CHURCH and THANKSGIVING...”

Biden’s administration is going to be overwhelmed. IMHO he will declare martial law.

There is a cement manufacturing concern in El Paso. Maybe they will loan out their kiln for a while.

This IS what’s behind the spike (I’m not in El Paso, but San Antonio, about 550 miles away, but I pay attention to the local and state news). The solution seems pretty simple: treat those already here, and prevent any further immigration - shut down the border. Why that hasn’t been done is beyond me.

Most likely due to a backlog in funerals due to the virus and the concern for large groups of people. What used to be a few days wait has turned into weeks causing the bodies to stack up and not enough morgue space.
