'I'm going to jail for the rest of my life': What Kyle Rittenhouse told the friend who supplied rifle used in the Kenosha protest shooting

Soon after he shot three people, a panicked 17-year-old Kyle Rittenhouse told a friend he expected to go to jail for life, but that if he had not fired, he would "probably be dead."

The account comes from a newly released video of a Kenosha detective questioning Dominick Black, the 19-year-old charged with buying Rittenhouse the rifle he used to kill two people and injure a third.

“The dude’s sweating like a pig. He’s just freaking out. His face is white,” Black said of Rittenhouse.

“He’s like, ‘I’m going to jail for the rest of my life. I’m done.’ He’s just scared. I'm just trying to calm him down."

Rittenhouse was charged with two counts of homicide and faces four other charges in connection with the Aug. 25 Kenosha protest shootings that killed Joseph Rosenbaum, 36, and Anthony Huber, 26, and injured Gaige Grosskreutz, 26.

He was released Friday afternoon from the Kenosha County Jail after his attorney posted the $2 million bail. His legal team has said he acted in self-defense.

Black faces charges of intentionally providing a dangerous weapon to a minor, resulting in death. He was bound over for trial earlier this week.

Black and Rittenhouse told police they had were in Kenosha to protect a car lot during the unrest that followed the police shooting of Jacob Blake. Both were armed.

Detective Ben Antaramian questioned Black for about an hour the morning of Aug. 26 at the police station in Antioch, Illinois, where Rittenhouse had turned himself in.

The video adds more detail to documents released last month by Antioch police that described Black's initial account to police there after the shooting. Rittenhouse's sister also was questioned that night. A video of Rittenhouse's interview has not yet been released.

never talk openly to official authority or gov’t at this point. even you’re own lawyer can be the enemy. never call or give any evidence (without backing it all up several ways) the police, especially the fbi.

i talk my personal friends (including two pastors!) in law enforcement when i need help before i do anything official. if you don’t have any friends or brothers/sisters leos, get some.

It’s obviously self-defense. That’s why Lin Wood is defending him. I think he is in very good hands - the MAGA-hat kid practically owns CNN.

Glad Schroder is stepping up to the plate. The Hollywood left certainly has unleashed a tsunami of cash to bail Antifa looters and arsonists out. It’s time the right stood up for its good guys. Gutsy move on Schroder’s part, given his industry’s political inclinations.

"No because it was not a federal crime."

The president can pardon anyone for anything. Has nothing to do with "federal crimes".

you are wrong there is a veridical separation of powers. the president cant pardon a crime on the state level. the governor of that state has to do it.

he expected to go to jail for life, but that if he had not fired, he would "probably be dead."

1. This proves that moments after shooting, Kyle feared for his life. Any claims of fear for his safety are not just manufactured by a lawyer's coaching.

2. Kyle was being chased by a violent pedophile felon, and shots were being fired behind him. His fear for his safety was completely reasonable.

3. In the second engagement, Kyle only fired after being attacked, and he held off on shooting Lefty when that predator temporarily pointed his Glock in the air, put his hands up, and pretended he was no longer a threat.

Even with all that, I'm worried. "Justice" no longer means what it is supposed to mean, and our courts have been corrupted as much as our elections.

Who else is there?
If the President is out of the white house,Kyle will not have to worry about a trial. You will be wondering why the power and cell service went out.
