University of California Berkeley visiting professor and author Joyce Carol Oates equated President Trump's supporters' attitude towards coronavirus to that of Germans who 'adjusted to living' with the Holocaust as it happened.
Oates, 82, who is an English professor, tweeted Thursday that: 'for many pro-T***p Americans, the pandemic is like the Holocaust to many Germans: they knew what was happening but adjusted to living with it in indifference or, in some cases, profiting from it.'

Testing Positive for heading to a Holocaust era “Work Makes You Free” (Arbeit Macht’s Frei) did not offer a 99.6% survival rate with the vast majority having no inconvenience.
We currently have a similar “Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda” pushing multiple “Big Lie(s)”. All forms of media - broadcast online or over the air, paper, establishment opinons, school and church preaching and all state and local government communications.
The 60’s philosophers who hated censorship and conforming to the establishment paradigms sure turned into their own worst nightmares over the past decade or so.
80 years of Marxist professors denying the horrors of Communism.
Rather typical venom which continually sprouts from the minds of “progressives”, and indicative of how sick they are deep down in their souls.

Has anyone ever read her? Did anyone ever read her? Kind of a female Jack Kerouac.
Unlike multimillionaire writers who can sit this out in their mansions emoting nonstop angst - the 'little people' have to function to keep the machine moving so the 'elites' can have their tea and toast every morning...
We would rather spend a year on our favorite fainting couch in front of a wall of books too... (well, maybe NOT that extreme) You lack insight on this one Joyce Carol Oats...that's disappointing.
Well you need to consider the source. A Berkeley “professor”. Need I say more?
All I need to know.
Must be something bad in the water at University of California Berkeley. What else could explain this typical Berkeley insanity?
Berkley needs a good 8.6 earth quake that takes it and San Francisco out
Is there any professor at Berkeley that has commonsense?
She is a past winner of the Jerusalem Prize, which is ironic in light of the antisemitism implicit in her statement to which she is apparently completely oblivious.
Not since maybe after 1914.
She feels no shame for cheapening the memory of the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust together with the millions more Poles, Gypsies, Russians, mentally ill and mentally retarded people murdered by the Nazi regime. If refusal to wear a mask in Trump’s America is the moral equivalent of 50 million dead, then the only conclusion that can be drawn is that the Holocaust just wasn’t all that bad. Just sick. This professor and her ilk are moral pariahs.
Question is if they care so much, why they only let liberals protest?
Black people should refuse to wear slave masks. It is racist.
Di-hydrogen monoxide====> H2O====>water.
How did you come up with that year? Just curious.
The headline doesn’t represent the story. It is fog, not fact.
The German people, just like the Italians, the Vietnamese, some African people’s, and others, were very aware of what was happening. And in knowing they could do nothing to prevent it, they learned to work within the system.
Trying to compare an uncontrolled virus to the intentional murdering of 11M Jews, according to the Wash Post, and an estimated 75 to 80M in the war, 3% of the total population of the world at that time, is admitting the virus was an attack and not an accident in its comparison.
