Here is what I think the rationale is -— we have to meet a deadline, electors have to convene in a few weeks — that is our priority.

If the February audit discovers that Biden really lost our state, tough luck (after all, even without PA, Biden won other states anyway ), let’s make the necessary requisite RECTIFICATIONS later to prevent this from happening.

In other words — KICK THE CAN DOWN THE ROAD ( governments are very good at doing this ).

There can’t be broad-based mail-in balloting in future elections. You’re just handing the Democrats perpetual power over the commonwealth.

publicly highlight other shortcomings of the existing voting system - open a gift that keeps on giving between now and february

keep the controversy in the headlines until resolved

prevent the controversy from falling from the public spotlight

provide a citation/springboard/cover for other legislative actions
