Toilet paper, disinfectant and groceries are once again flying off the shelves across the United States with states forced to impose stricter lockdowns and the number of new COVID-19 cases spiking to 166,000 Monday.
Pictures taken in recent days show stores in Washington, California, Virginia, Indiana, Ohio, New Jersey, New York, Michigan and Missouri have all been affected by the rush. It is the second time this year that shoppers appear to be panic buying; stores were left scrambling to restock shelves wiped out in response to COVID-19 back in March.
But experts say the run is likely to be less severe this time as stores and shoppers are more prepared. Subodha Kumar, a supply chain expert at Temple University, told The Daily Beast: 'People have already hoarded a lot of this stuff in their basements.'

Typical liberal rhetoric.
Being prepped is NOT hoarding.
It’s not too long ago in our world’s history that anyone who didn’t plan ahead was a fool and died from starvation.
It’s only recently that we’ve learned to live hand to mouth and consider well thought out preparations to be “hoarding”
Most people are dumber than rocks.
My stock from early February WHEN THE STORES WERE FULL OF PRODUCT AND EMPTY OF PEOPLE will last me a year, if necessary. Anyone who couldn’t see this coming hasn’t enough sense to survive a peanut butter shortage.

SON: Daddy...what did you do during The Great Coronavirus Pandemic of 2020?
DAD: Well, son, I had a very dangerous job...I was a tailgunner...on a Charmin delivery truck!
Geez... are these CUMULATIVE numbers?
“Most people are dumber than rocks.”
Yep. And they vote.

During the summer a number of TP and paper towel manufacturers were allowing you to order direct from them. That may still be the case. Of course, one probably had to order a Costco sized shipment.
For months now (and currently as of this message) one has been able to order cases of TP from places like Amazon/Walmart/Sams Club.
I happen to have a preference for Scott...so needless to say...I've been stocked to the gills for some time now. :)
Scott was scarce March thru May of this year.
Uncle Miltie :" Anyone who couldn’t see this coming hasn’t enough sense to survive a peanut butter shortage. "
True that !
They just don't want to get jammed up without peanutbutter,
and they want to preserve their way of life.
I know of one person in my while life who caught the covid, which was nasty.
She wore a mask 100% of the time.
Someone online was citing digital attacks on intermediary steps in the supply chain were responsible for this round of shortages. Used a big cold storage company as an example of that.
This is madness. These governors have no right to restrict free Americans to the extent they have. Here in Florida we had a big spike in June and we weathered it. Never locked down. Now it’s back all across the globe. This is not a second wave. This is a second biological attack, maybe from the enemy within.
Hospitalizations normally go up a lot this time of year. How much of this, if any, is due to Covid?
When I worked at Home Depot, they marked down several large packages of Charmin. I bought almost all of them, to the laughter of my fellow associates.
Who's laughing now, bitches?
I have plentiful toilet paper and paper towels. And plentiful liquid hand soap. People are panicking for all the WRONG reasons.
We saw it at Walmart here in Atlanta yesterday. Bought some more TP today.
Or the fact common colds, pneumonia and influenza really spike from late October to middle March anyway? Remember, for most people, the COVID-19 virus will just hit like a common cold, especially now with its mutations since March 2020.
In these parts (northern CT) the stores are well stocked with _everything_.
I was able to buy whatever I wanted—and I am prepping big time in case we get hit with Antifa/BLM riots after they realize that their Biden pet is going down...
Cases, cases, cases but why no mention of death rates.....?
"Cases": False positives, false positives, false positives...and the occasional real infection.
Elon Musk had two positives and two negatives in a single day. The whole thing is absurd.
Both my wife and I had the Chinese flu in January when it hit our small, Kansas town. We both survived. So did everyone else I know who had it. Right now our small freezer is full of beef (bought the annual 1/4 from a local rancher). May go to the store today and get the turkey. And cranberries (although we still have a couple of packages frozen from last year...). Not planning on starving anytime soon. If it really goes south, we know folks in AZ on a working cattle ranch who have an adobe we can live in.
