I agree with both of your points, especially #2. I had a discussion with a person a Tea Party meeting some years ago who was a small business owner, and I asked him one simple question:

If you didn’t show up to your small business for the next 729 days, now wouldn’t you have a reasonable expectation that when you came back, your small business would be out of control?

The obvious answer he gave was “yes”.

That’s where we are with government. Our guys vote, they’re proud to be a part of the “silent majority”, and then they wash their hands of it and flee the scene until 2 years later at the next designated election day. But then they’re surprised that after 729 days everything is out of control. Well what was your first clue, Sherlock?

If everybody’s going to check out, then tyranny is our future. It’s simple math. And they’ve been doing this for decades. Vote then disappear. Vote then disappear. Vote then disappear. That’s a failed pattern. If you win the election but you surrender the culture, you’ve still lost.

I didn’t hear the Rush broadcast you reference, but I do have another (third?) reason why lack of protesting is a huge mistake. It is a common refrain to hear amongst conservatives that progressives dominate American culture. Of course they do, they engage in it.

Protesting is by far the single most simple and direct way to engage in culture, politically. And its so disruptive to the media’s narrative. So disruptive. It’s so quick, it doesn’t require much forethought nor does it require some huge corporate entity to begin the process. We could do this without any actual organization.

Tax Day Tea Partying never should have ended. April 15th is by far such an easy lightning rod for everybody to unite.

It’s our own fault that we never demanded a GOP that actually sticks up for the Conservative half of the country, and that understands Marxist propaganda....people who claim to be champions of equality should be viewed with extreme scrutiny, due to how “fighting inequality” is the rallying cry of Marxists....unfortunately, SJWs have been given the benefit of the doubt for decades...... It’s like telling your kid that if a stranger offers them candy and tells them to get in their car, they should do it, because they’re probably a really nice person
