Fresh off of a host of unpredicted defeats from Republican congressional candidates on election night, Speaker Pelosi claimed the moral victory. In what was forecasted to be a “blue wave” year for congressional Democrats, Republicans managed to flip blue seats and cut down the Democratic majority. Thus far, no House Republicans lost their reelection.

So if they stole the election for Biden, why didn’t they also steal the election for Pelosi?
I have a theory, BTW, but I would like to hear other opinions first.

Nah, opening this Congress will be her validictory, and then she'll leave when she Thunderdomes in an attempt to 25A Biden.
It would have angered too many people. Since the GOPe have their comfortable seats they will say “To hell with Trump, I did it all by myself!”
Well, it’s obvious. The Democrats are a bunch of sexists who hate women. But really, Nancy Pelosi represents the city and county of San Francisco and its liberal Democrat infestation. She’s somehow popular enough there that she doesn’t need to cheat to win. The population of her district suffers from endemic severe mental illness and substance abuse on a scale unlike anything else in America. No sane person in his or her right mind would support Nancy Pelosi, but those persons don’t populate her district, so she won overwhelmingly.
She might not win a new term as speaker of the House; I’d much like to see extensive internecine fighting among the Democrats of the House of Representatives prevent any serious legislation from emerging from that chamber for a protracted period.
Pelosi doesn’t care because she knows she’s going to be Speaker one more time. She’ll toss Steny Hoyer and some other lackey to the Squad wolves while retaining control of Intelligence, Judiciary, Ways and Means, Rules, and Ethics, and that will give her enough support to squeak out this final vote. The Republicans are too close for the RATS to do anything else but hold their noses though a few of them will strongly consider it.

I’ll tell you what the proof in the pudding for me is. Note in so many Dem states the down ballot for Pubs won us many House positions against them. How is it we won so many House seats and not the Presidency that was on the same ballot? Seems odd to me.
Pelosi knows this is it, because in 2022, the GOP will probably take at least 300 seats, as Buyer’s Remorse sets in.
