I worked for an IT firm in Dallas for 3 years as a PM before I switched back to the “gubbermint.” It was a major firm. We were bringing in loads of Indians on H1B visas where they legally lied to get them here as cheap white collar tech folks. Of course we did that all awhile we were offshoring to Bangalore India much of the support etc. But no worries, the company checked all the ethical behavior boxes and waived the US flag around when self promoting.
Yes, then Bill Gates years ago complained about young Americans avoiding the tech sector. It was shortly after the tech companies had threatened to move work to Vancouver if US politicians didn’t give them access to more Asian coolies; you can’t make this stuff up.
