Looks like the masking, distancing, restrictions, lockdowns and other deliberate forced actions aren't doing a damn thing to "stop the spread of the virus".

A normal person wouldn't keep doing harmful things to themselves if there was no value in doing so, now would they? Of course not!

Then again, that would require rationality, logic, reason and wisdom which is in short supply in America, particularly among political tyrants and, especially, among "The Experts"!

I wonder how many of them are false positives?

The hospitalizations are troubling, though.

There are 6,146 hospitals in the United States. I am not good at math and I can't find my calculator. Somebody else wanna do the math?

Okay, found my calculator - looks like there are maybe 22 patients per hospital in the US who have been admitted for COVID.

Excuse me while I shudder in absolute horror.

Also let’s not forget more States started counting very fallible Antigen tests last couple of weeks including probable cases in their covid counts. So Antigen Positive=confirmed Antigen Negative=probable both count as COVID cases in the new guidelines. Sham city....I wish one thing we could agree upon is looking at hospitalization cases as the bell weather and the percent of hospitalizations that are truly covid.

Georgia has a nice page on this: https://www.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/e40c39564f724af7bfe8fd5d88deadb6

Notice only 10% of hospitalizations are in there for COVID.

All true. Glad we are facing this one with 2020 tech and innovation. Winter will bring more cases, that’s just how this bug works.

This is unpossible. Everyone’s wearing masks.

Isn’t that odd? 85 percent of infections are people who report they wore masks, at least most of the time. (per CDC report)

Is there any state, country, or even a municipality that has seen a drop in infections after imposing a mask mandate?

Any?

I understand if you wear the super duper N95 mask, it works okay. Except no one can breathe while even walking in one. But, even if you just throw a handkerchief over your mouth, any face covering, you’re looking good.

No worries, I’ve heard we may be able to see our friends, family and neighbors again in another year or so. Two years tops.

Mitigation for CCP-19 will dramatically reduce flu cases and those for other communicable diseases.

The hospitalizations are troubling

I'm not sure I believe there are record numbers of hospitalizations. A friend used to get daily information about hospitalizations in the state. All of a sudden his state and local updates stopped.

If hospitalizations are off the charts, why has there been no decrease in elective surgery? A number of data sources indicate there's been no drop in elective surgery. Very suspicious.

“I thought masks and shutdowns were supposed to help. Guess not.”

Or you could say “imagine what it would be like without masks and shutdowns.”

The only statistic that matters is the death rate among healthy people. Then you have a major problem. But you won’t stop people from dying ever — of anything. It is not a coincidence that there is a substantially higher rate of deaths in long term care centers, nursing homes, hospice. It’s just that now, there is nobody in the media capable of making any valid discriminations about anything.

Severe cases and hospitalizations would be down if treatment with supplements and HCQ were made available to patients who showed at least two symptoms of the virus even if they did not have a positive test. Waiting for positive test results means letting the virus get stronger while the immune system has to work harder. Or G-d forbid go into overdrive and set off a cytotokine storm. At high risk persons should be supplied with home O2 meters so they can check their levels and be ready for emergency transport should it go into the danger zone.

People should be advised to take zinc, vitamin C, get as much sun as they can (or take supplement Vitamin D)along with proper rest and diet. All ways to boost the immune system and decrease inflammation.

if only we had let the virus run its course but instead we had to destroy some many lives, ruin the childhoods of millions, ruin businesses, and let old people die alone, locked in a nursing home...

we sure did flatten the curve, but we also extended it and extended it...

those who have died would probably be dead from their other many ailments...

most all who have gotten covid in the last few months said that they wore masks nearly all the time...

“looks like there are maybe 22 patients per hospital in the US who have been admitted for COVID.”

If they were evenly distributed that might be a worthwhile stat. They are not. Most hospitals don’t have many ICU beds. There are (or were, probably increased, now) 85k ICU beds in the US, or about 14 beds per hospital (also not evenly distributed). And that has to provide for all sorts of needs, not just CCP-19. Those hospitalized cases are just the worst off of the lot. There are still 3.7 million active cases.

Masks do not stop infection but they can lower viral loads. The best case scenario for masks is eventually everyone who wears a mask gets COVID19 in a low enough viral load their body can fight off and develop herd immunity. This is sort of like a live vaccine.

But if you are immunocompromised or elderly, masks give you a false sense of security. These people really should be using N95 or completely locked down at home.

99.99+% of healthy individuals under age 50 do not die from this virus and probably are more at risk of dying from driving their vehicle each day.

The 50+ population and those with pre-existing conditions should be the ones considering lock down. Not young healthy adults. Those adults should live their normal lives and go herd.

Complete lies, you cannot divide total hospitals by total patients. Cases are clustered in the cities a rural hospital in the middle of nowhere is not taking patients from afar. Here in Texas Lubbock and Amarillo are so overwhelmed they are transporting patients to DFW for treatment I assure you those Lubbock hospitals do not have 22 patients each. parkland Dallas is nearing capacity due to people being transported from other cities which are already full. I have two ER nurse X girlfriends that I still talk to and grab drinks with on the regular they are frazzled one is about to quit over the workload.

There was a study from Goldman Sachs early on in the pandemic in Feburary before it all went to hell. They predicted 350k dead in the United States but the vast majority being elderly who would have died anyway. It was spot on.

This virus is a heat seeking missile to the elderly and infirm. Nature’s way of cleaning out the ecosystem sad to say. Most of the dead would have died anyway within 12 months from what they were inflicted with.

Almost zero. We are t seeing much influenza at all. Probably because of masks distancing and hand washing
