To the establishment medias apparent dismay, McConnell is not deeming the presidential election over, nor is he urging Trump to concede.
The president has every right to look into allegations and to request recounts under the law and notably the Constitution gives no role in this process to wealthy media corporations, McConnell said on the Senate floor Monday, blasting the projections and commentary of the press.
The projections and commentary of the press do not get veto power over the legal rights of any citizen, including the President of the United States, he continued.
Our institutions are actually built for this, the majority leader said. We have the system in place to consider concerns and President Trump is 100 percent within his rights to look into allegations of irregularities and weigh his legal options.
McConnell also asked for his Democrat counterparts to spare him of any lectures, given their endless crusade of questioning the legitimacy of the 2016 election.
He said:
Lets not have any lectures, no lectures, about how the president should immediately, cheerfully accept preliminary election results from the same characters who just spent four years refusing to accept the validity of the last election and who insinuated that this one would be illegitimate too if they lost again only if they lost.
McConnell, who was reelected to lead his caucus, previewed his support of the president on Friday, stressing that every legal vote should be counted and any illegally-submitted ballots must not

Truth be told, McConnell and the rest of the GOPe never accepted it either, or they’d have worked with the President of their own party instead of blocking and criticizing him at ever turn.
interpretation, please?
Well, that explains all those judges getting confirmed - because the Rs considered Trump illegitimate. That makes *perfect* sense.
Good. I would have thought Turtle man would have been among the first to demand Trump concede
Hopefully to start a counter-intel investigation into Ben Rhodes based on the Logan Act— Andrew (@primofederalist) November 10, 2020
Democrats spent four years claiming that Russian interference rendered the 2016 Presidential Election fraudulent and invalid.
Now, they whine that objections to the Democrat Fraud Machine’s attempt to steal the Presidency are an attack on democracy.
The more they whine, the more frustrated they get, the more their stupid fake news narrative falls apart.
Name one other thing Mitch did to help Trump.
I have paused all criticism of McConnell and Graham because they are supporting The Real President, Trump.
Why is that lowlife Haspell there. Nothing good can come from that. Shesa conspirator.
yes, but AOC made a list and a threat.
McConnell can be a Snapping Turtle when he needs to be, so I’ll join you in pausing criticism of him.
He’s also capable of being very crafty and stealthy. For all his faults, he knows well how things work in D.C., and can keep his cards close to the vest until it’s time to deploy them.
Much legislation, cabinet confirmations, blah, blah, blah.
What did you ever do for Trump?
I posted a thread the other day about chronic complainers. You should go read it and rewire your poor sad head.
Thanks for your self righteous and condescending response, it really made me reconsider my thinking!
What's the penalty for Logan Act violation? $10 fine?
Thank you, Cocaine Mitch, the Apex Predator of the Senate!!! Keep fighting for the 70 million of us who love and support our GREAT President Trump!
And what good have those judges done us? Not much really. Gorsuch voted with the Democrats and gave Trannies rights under the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
McConnell has been a surprise in recent weeks and months, to the good, very much to the good.
He's been busy filling judgeships right and left, he held up under heavy fire in the battle for Judge Amy, and he has been strong in his recent defense of the president's fight for an accurate ballot count across the nation.
Seems the old turtle can be hard-headed when he gets his back up.
