Michigan Legislature Holds Rare Emergency Session to Investigate Election Irregularities
The Dan Bongino Show ^ | November 9, 2020 | Elizabeth Vaughn

The Detroit Free Press reported that the Michigan state legislature held a joint hearing of the House and Senate Oversight committees on Saturday. State lawmakers “issued a subpoena to state election officials…requesting documents related to Michigan’s election process.” They will be investigating “possible election irregularities.”

The article indicated that it is rare for the legislature to call a hearing on a Saturday and equally rare for a legislative committee to issue a subpoena.

Although the Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is a Democrat, both the state House and the state Senate are controlled by Republicans, a point the author emphasizes several times.

Michigan House Speaker Lee Chatfield (R-Levering) issued a statement after the hearing had been announced on Friday. It read:

In my county in TN, the election commission posts the tapes from each precinct and the county total. Is there something similar in yours? If yes, could you get those n compare to what is reported on the state site? Verify that what was voted is what is counted.

No. John James didn’t conceded. The media here is plastering photos of John with Trump all over the place, with articles saying Trump destroyed his chances.

Something very bad is going on here. Even papers that were once centrist, like the Detroit News are working hard to shut down all fraud accusations.

Do a search on Google for “Michigan vote fraud” and all you get are articles saying it’s a lie, there’s no proof, blah, blah, blah. It’s like they have taken total control of all media sites that non-political junkies would turn to.

“.... to getting our election procedures right in the future.”

This part of the statement is what worries me the most! “...in the future.” The Republican Party truly is the dumbest party on Earth! What part of “There WON’T be any future for your party” do these boneheads do not understand??

Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector.

From the US Constituion.

It is up to state legislators to appoint electors.

Can they meet and chuse different electors than an elected secretary of state certifies? I believe so. Might create a real ruckus.

Probably court challenges, etc.

Keep in mind that, by law, Legislatures appoint the Electors; the relevant 2020 states, even w/ Dem governors, have Republican legislatures.

NOTE WELL: Evidence of unreliable vote results does not have to be at the level of convincing a court of law.
It has only to "suggest uncertainty." And in the presence of uncertainty, the Legislature decides, not a court.

REFERENCE (h/t westernjournal.com)
<><> Only the electoral college or the various state legislatures can declare a candidate the winner.
<><> Declaring the winner based on network vote totals and projections (MSM calling Biden the “president-elect”) is irresponsible.
<><> Recounts in Az, Ga, and other states will go heavily for Trump since likely errors and invalid votes took place on "found" mail-ins for Biden.
<><> We know Biden won upwards of 2/3's of mail-ins and absentees, ergo, it is likely that most of the discarded mail ballots will be subtracted from Biden’s total.

====================================

Dates to remember:
Dec. 8th---States Certification of Votes, each state has their deadline.
Dec. 14th---Electors Announce their Votes.
Jan. 6th----Joint Session of Congress reads aloud the votes of the Electors.

==================================

(h/t Owen) Q. Can the Congress reject the Electoral votes? A. Congress can choose to do anything it wants.

<><> Electors are appointed by state legislatures----a course of action embedded in the Constitution.

<><> If Congress wants to refuse them, the USSC would decide which slate is valid (assuming states sent two electoral slates).

<><> Because the legislature selects the slate, the Court would have no choice. Constitutional law is clear.

I read that Michigan said it wasn’t holding the meeting to do anything legally about the election just doing meeting to talk about what happened and going forward. Michigan Legislature are afraid of Detroit riots if they dare to do EV to Trump vs. Biden. Just my observation.

How do they expect to win back anything with openly fraudulent elections in which voting doesn't matter?

Should the corrupt demented pedophile be installed the GOP will be lucky if a Harris-Biden DOJ doesn't find some pretext to neuter it through legal means, if not sue it into oblivion.

Obviously, having a Republican majority in state Legislatures In an election year doesn’t help. What’s the point in voting and being a Republican?

Yep. We Conservatives are part of THE STUPID PARTY. We do need to stay with the Republicans and change the direction from within. We wouldn’t have enough voters, at this point, to win anything. I suspect many in the Party do stand with us, but cannot ‘out’ themselves.

“Recount won’t work, because bad ballots were already mixed in.”

I’m concerned with the ballots being destroyed and/or trashed.

There is NO WAY Biden came anywhere near garnering the level of support these states are showing.

Oh I am not saying it’s right not to fight, but I am not some state legislator from Podunk, PA with a cushy P\T 40k a year gig with benefits, who likes things the way they are. I think this needs to be seen through. The power of positive thinking will not work in this case, I can wish things to be so, does not mean they will. I would love to be wrong here. I do NOT think the USSC will step in and offer any remedy for Trump, they will kick it down to the State Legislators to fix this. Does anyone here actually think the PA, MI, Ga, or Nevada state legislatures will send Trump electors to vote. I am really skeptical here. This is a one-party system and those guys like the way things are. They will not fall on their sword for Trump.

“The fix may be already in, throw up a token fight, let Trump lose by cheating, and then use that a rallying cry in 2022 and win back the House. Not the worst strategy I have heard.”

My God man, look at your words! It appears you’ve already bent over and are waiting for a good pounding!

Gutless while pointing your finger at those equally gutless.

There is a drumbeat from the Michigan press for the GOP here to accept the outcome “even if Trump refuses to.” There’s also articles with headlines that say things like, “Michigan GOP lawmakers doubt Trump’s claims.”

Today is the first time I’ve gotten discouraged, however, on the upside, the media messaging doesn’t yet match what I’m hearing from friends and neighbors who absolutely think Biden stole the election and want something done.

Yes, and many, many years ago the Michigan legislature passed a law saying those electors would be allocated based on popular vote in the election. Now they want to undo that and allocate electors regardless of the vote. Can they just do that? Or would it take another law stating that the legislature will allocate electors and not the voters? And if so, what is the chance that the governor won't veto it?

Probably court challenges, etc.

Ya think?
