BEIJING - China, which has held off on congratulating U.S. presidential election winner Joe Biden even as leaders of other countries have done so, said on Monday it would follow custom in responding to the result.
“We noticed that Mr. Biden has declared election victory,” foreign ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin told a daily media briefing. “We understand that the U.S. presidential election result will be determined following U.S. law and procedures.”
In 2016, Xi sent congratulations to Trump on Nov. 9, a day after the election.

I’m no fan of Xi, but he’s smart. He knows that if Trump loses, he’s still in office for two more months, so why antagonize him while he can still take some actions against China? And if Trump wins, Xi figures he may earn a little bit of gratitude from Trump for this gesture of respect. And Biden isn’t much of a consideration here, because he knows it won’t matter very much if he hurts Biden’s feelings, it will still be easy to push Biden around either way.
This from a one-party state that hasn’t had a real election in at least 70 years.
Xi is also smart enough to know that a pathetic economy under Harris (just call it what it is) is just as disastrous for China’s economy.
They need a strong US as much as we do.

Why congratulate the doorman.
China took part in congratulating Biden, before election day. Congratulating him too soon, would make it too obvious, that they helped.
China doesn’t want to lose face.

Funny, the three countries with some of the most massive election fraud, Mexico, Russia, and China, are the three holding off. They know it when they see it, and they’ve also interacted with Donald Trump enough to know he doesn’t back down.

So far, I’ve seen that China, Russia, Mexico + other countries have not accepted that Biden is Prez-Elect.
They know there has been significant vote fraud and await the final decision.
Don’t understand Israel giving congrats to Biden.
