Cutting the Cable News Cord
American Thinker.com ^ | November 8, 2020 | Laura Peterson Lytle

Posted on 11/08/2020 6:23:31 AM PST by Kaslin

Something happened in my house this week that those who know me will find unbelievable: I cut the remaining cord to cable news. Fox News, the only remaining cable news source I considered somewhat trustworthy, found itself banned from my home with all other cable news.

The app has been deleted, along with all news apps associated with Fox News. An overwhelming peace came in doing so, not unlike the peace that came from deleting my Twitter account in July. The Twitter cesspool is not worth swimming in. Parler is now my go-to social media app, while independent news sources with journalistic integrity are now my go-to for news.

Having worked a significant portion of my life as a news reporter and editor, journalism will always be in my blood. I crave news and information like some crave chocolate. That will likely never change. What will change is where I get that news and information.

While there are many reasons which factored into my decision, the final proverbial straw came when Fox News continued to deny any “credible evidence” of election/voter fraud. Such declarations were often delivered by anchors with a sneer and a smirk. With social media and big tech-monopolies banning and censoring evidence of verifiable election fraud, even Fox News likely feels safe in perpetuating the “nothing to see here” lie. The problem for these censoring overlords and truth-deniers is that election fraud is, in fact, taking place. When dead people somehow rise from the grave to vote, that is election fraud.

I just saw post 16 so that answers much of my questions. Thank you!

Any other suggestions would still be appreciated.

I cut the cord a number of years ago.

After a while, you quit thinking in terms of channels.

On demand changes everything. You don’t need channels.

We have Spectrum TV and Internet. I am not at all savvy on how to change this. Get a new Internet provider and cut the TV?
Help appreciated. ( we have Roku)

NEWSMAX TV has the right News, excuse the Pun.
But they have The Presidents back with their coverage and have had it all long. I watch it on xfinity, Cable,
YouTUBE and many other systems. Just search by voice, Search tools on cable systems, and also go to NEWSMAXTV on google or Duck Duck Go.

Newsmax is going to overtake Fox among conservatives.
Trump 2020 is still waiting legal results.

Cutting the cable is one thing... contacting all of the advertisers and punishing them is the real pressure

Viewing recomendation

Absolutely no cable or satilite, there local access service charge($30) go directly to major broadcasters.

Get fiber from someone that is not you local cable company

Get an over the air antenna no matter what it takes.  OTA

If you must watch something, BOYCOTT advertisers and let
       them know.

The only streaming like cable service to use if you must is philo.

No MSM, no locals, no sports, no fox, no Disney anything
Disney owns ABC, espn, fox (last year), Hulu
       Bankrupt disney.

Use OANN and Newsmax

Demand ala cart service on internet, media won’t allow it, tell them to .....

You Tube is owned by Google, so don’t give them your money. They de-platformed Steve Bannon the other night. His website is also receiving DOS attacks, but he’s hanging in.

Bannon said yesterday that he was trying to put together an episode of War Room for this morning, so that’s a possible upbeat listening option for today.

“I will no longer watch fox even though I love tucker”

My brother says he watched Tucker a little later on Youtube where Fox will not get a hit. I guess videos are put out there by pirates. Still, Youtube most likely will take down every Tucker, Hannity, etc., video in short time.

Totally vouch for OANN. Sanity saving. Helps that everyone on that channel looks like a model.

Cable is nothing but advertising which is one of the leading productions of brainwashing in America. No need to repeat what many of us see with the race and gender element of good and bad, smart and stupid, pretty and not so beautiful. I boycott those companies based on their ad campaigns. Sports is what kept much of cable alive and even though I dropped most of those games years and decades ago, hopefully the political ramifications causes those leagues to sink and bring cable monopolies with them.

“We have Spectrum TV and Internet. ... Get a new Internet provider and cut the TV?”

Can you keep the Spectrum internet, and just lose the TV? We have Spectrum internet and have been happy with it. We don’t have TV with them.
