Probably the dumbest thing he ever did. Understandable since he thought he was losing till Fremont dropped out but...

VP has 2 reasons to exist, both of which EXTREMELY contraindicate a bipartisan ticket. Offer a damn cabinet post if you have such a hardon. Especially back then the VP had almost no role in the administration, didn’t even make sense for Johnson to accept (unless he was in on it with Booth, lol), you were just trying to give idiots a reason to vote for you.

I still wanna slap (then) elderly cancer survivor McCain upside the head for even thinking about Liarman.
