Visa went public in 2008. It is just about impossible for commoners to get in at the IPO prices. Stock brokers reserve thr IPO stock for themselves and their best customers.

I've always considered the IPO pricing method to be somewhat dirty. If every one of them goes up 50% on the first day, that means the investment bankers running them are systemically underpricing them. If they are doing it right, there should be little or no change between the IPO price and its price when traded.

Doesn’t look like a 60 minutes expose either, but rather a press conference with Steve Kraft asking questions. Of course Steve Kraft was a member of 60 minutes. He retired in May of 2019. So it is not new for sure. Your guess of 2008 is probably not right either as part of the question Kraft asks contains the verbiage “as far back as 2008”. So this press conference had to be after 2008, and before May 2019. If that helps at all. 8>)
