President Donald Trump has launched a fundamental reform of the H-1B visa system to protect American graduates from outsourcing — despite furious opposition from donors and leaders from Silicon Valley, Fortune 500 companies, and coastal investors.

The reform will end the annual award of 85,000 H-1B visas by lottery, which has been gamed by companies to import foreign workers at wages far below the salaries needed by American professionals. Instead, the visas will be offered to the companies that compete to offer the highest salaries, preventing employers from undercutting American graduates. [Original article said President Trump's deputies launched. Not sure why they referenced the deputies and what is a deputy. Maybe former never Trumper Cuccinelli's wording to Breitbart]

If it is worth doing, why do it in a panic a few days before Election Day?

If you need someone that bad, the salary should show it.

Otherwise, cultivate it from within or find it where it exists, here.

What do you know? H-1B being used for those with special and unique skills like the program promised, rather than 85,000 new first line help desk operators or web page typists creating articles on “10 things you didn’t know about chutney”.

Just end it. 85,000 workers per year, who supposedly stay six years but in practice never leave... what do you think that does to the American workforce? Add them up and you’re talking hundreds of thousands competing with American workers.

Immigration policy should not be used to manipulate wages, or demographics. Only people who love us and want to be us should be admitted, and only in numbers that can be absorbed and assimilated.

Better idea: charge a fee of $50,000 per visa per year. Suddenly, only the highest skilled will be hired.

PDJT keeping another campaign promise. Should just go the whole way and restrict immigration to WASP’s only.

This great nation was at it’s best when immigration from all the euro /asian sh**holes was severely restricted.

““There are many financial institutions in North Carolina that are abusing cheap labor and H-1Bs,” Jay Palmer, a civil rights activist who works with abused visa workers, told Breitbart News. He continued:

Charlotte, N.C., is the hotbed of visa fraud. They’re laying off American workers left and right because there is so much cheap [foreign] labor in North Carolina … They’re hiring anybody through third-party consulting companies, and they are paying them on 1099s [as gig workers] to work at the financial institutions. They’re replacing American workers such as risk managers and actuaries — any jobs they can fill with cheap labor. It’s horrible. You don’t even know how bad it is.”

I have been SCREAMING this on here for years. I work in risk management. For large banks. In Charlotte.

I good 1/4 to 1/3rd of the big office buildings for the banks are stuffed full of H1b Indians. Yes, it really is that high. I’m not exaggerating. No, its not just “tech” jobs. Its accounting, its audit its any job they can get away with claiming is somehow technical in nature....which is just about every job. You can’t get away from using information systems in practically every role nowadays. So they put some tech sounding title on the job and then bring in an H1b Indian who gets paid a good 40% less than an American. They do this as much as they can possibly get away with.

Not only does this mean young Americans do not get those jobs like they should, it also means there is a much smaller pool of American talent to promote to mid level and senior jobs at those banks since Americans couldn’t get started there to begin with. I have zero doubt it depresses wages for even mid level employees like me.

As an example, I finished a project about a year ago. There was 1 Turk, 1 African, 2 Chinese and 6 Indians on the project. I was one of only 2 Americans on it. Yes, TWO out of TWELVE of us were actual Americans.

As bad as all of this is, I can’t even begin to tell you how nuclear PO’d I was to see this practice during the Great Recession. There were millions of Americans including lots of highly qualified Americans out of work - some of them for years. And STILL the big banks were stuffed full of H1b Indian indentured servants. It was criminal.

Trump is the first president who has actually done something about it since this started about 25 years ago.

President Trump, still working for the American people, even while campaigning and not hiding in the basement.

“... wages far below the salaries needed by American professionals.”

As an American professional I need $200k per year. Elimination of H1B1 won’t be enough to get me there. Maybe we can have some government licensing requirements to weed out the unqualified and uneducated professionals as well. So nice to know my needs will be met.

Irregardless of H1B1 Visa workers, Americans, professional or not, do not get paid based on “need”. Nor are workers expected to work “according to their ability”. Their is a system for that.

If they are important and valuable enough to come and work then they should be offered citizenship. If not then no importing them.

>>despite furious opposition from donors and leaders from Silicon Valley, Fortune 500 companies, and coastal investors.

Billionaire Marxists who don’t want to pay fair wage to Americans and have openly LIED to Congress for decades about there not being sufficient technically skilled and college degreed and workforce experience Americans to do these jobs.

They have stifled wages for over 20 years and put the money in their own pockets rising to become among the very richest men in the world.

It’s about time this BS importation of cheap and lower skilled white collar labor was corralled towards something approaching sanity. I’ve watched my engineering profession progressively descimated over this starting in the early 1990s when my eyes were first opened to it.

I’ve encountered wholesale eliminations of 100s of STEM pros being eliminated as a whole block in favor of outsourcing. I have zero regard for the character of most corporate management. From my experience, Canada is in even worse shape than the USA in this regard.

For those that may have some cynical views of the timing or perhaps motivations of DJT re. this action at this time, this is taking on the deep state at its heart. The heart is $$$ and who controls and benefits from it. We’re seeing I believe, DJT unleashed with the confidence of being able to cut this Gordian Knot.

This is a great move if it is actually implemented and enforced by the globalist he has heading the visa program. It will end the low wage replacement gambit and ensuring that only those with actual high credentials and skills are brought in. THIS is how the program should have always been set up.

President Trump still needs to commit to the following -

The Deplorables want a Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement bill, missing since 1986 ONE TIME amnesty. Since that amnesty was granted already, a second amnesty is off the table. What remains is the enforcement the Democrats have disallowed since then.

The List of Comprehensive Immigration Enforcement, missing since 1986 goes like this -
1) southern barrier;
2) require eVerify to hire;
3) end all chain migration;
4) birthright per Minor v. Happersett (plural parents);
5) end work visas;
6) 10-year moratorium on all new applications for citizenship (40 years to allow workplace automation effects on downsizing population);
7) Set up an illegal aliens’ victim restitution fund.

Enactment of these provisions will motivate illegal aliens to SELF-deport, and remove colonizadors from our welfare rolls.

The reform will end the annual award of 85,000 H-1B visas by lottery,

The 85,000 H-1B limit only applies to private sector employers. Academic employers, federal agencies and contractors, state and local government agencies, are exempt from the 85,000 visa cap.

Probably 1 to 2 million H-1B applicants come in on exemptions every year.

ALL of them are fraudulent, because there are qualified American applicants for every IT job.

Indians working as IT recruiters are committing visa fraud, because those jobs do NOT fall into the categories specified by the legislation.

Furthermore, Indian IT recruiters don't submit American applicants for the jobs. They gather the credentials, steal the identities and professional information, block the Americans from the hiring employers, and submit only Indian applicants to the employers.
