With Hurricane Zeta expected to hit the Florida Panhandle on Wednesday, three counties in this conservative region will shorten their early voting hours, a move that could hurt the GOP.
Escambia, Okaloosa, and Santa Rosa counties are all Republican strongholds, Politico reports, and are expectedly to easily go for Trump. But Florida is a swing state, and Republicans have been counting on getting more voters to cast their ballots early in person, as more Democrats are returning their ballots by mail.
In Escambia and Santa Rosa counties, early voting hours are normally from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., but because of Zeta, the voting sites will close at 3 p.m. on Wednesday before reopening at 11 a.m. on Thursday, assuming there is no extensive damage caused by the storm. In Okaloosa County, early voting sites will close two hours early on Wednesday and open two hours later than normal on Thursday.
"It's an abundance of caution for us," Okaloosa County Supervisor of Elections Paul Lux told Politico. "Hurricane Sally just in September weakened a bunch of trees and power lines, so we need to be careful, but I do think we will get back up and running quickly."

Of course, I would strongly advise democrats to evacuate immediately and stay well inland, preferably in a different state, until at least next Wednesday. Cant be too careful.
But Republicans should vote as soon as possible, just to make sure, but not fear if they have to vote on election day.
Not really a big deal.

ROFL
Hope POTUS and Governor DeSantis have discussed contingencies.
Just when you think Florida is safely in PDJT’s column, weather has to interfere.
Whoo Hooo, a whole 8 less hours of polls being open. I really don’t think it is going to be a factor since it is a week before the actual election day. I suspect the places would be pretty empty anyways since folks are probably more concerned with prepping for the hurricane etc.
Hurricane Zeta looks bad for LA more than the Panhandle. It looks like it’s going to be fast moving and going to be all the way up in Delaware by Thursday evening, according to the official NHC map.
Prayers for all in Zeta’s path but it will be long gone by ED.
NOAA shows it hitting LA and MS border. What does this have to do with FLA Panhandle??
I was surprised to find there are almost 700,000 people in the three counties.
Agree. Ds have more to fear from Hurricane Donald.
Out of caution, Ds should shelter in a basement with the lid on for the next week.
Hurricane Trump
Media/Dems desperation article.
Here a question. Suppose you want to vote early and you dont want to wait for Election Day.
But God comes down and informs you that He is closing the polls on Thursday for the full day. Open Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
Will you still be able to vote early?
I thought about this for about 7 nanoseconds and I concluded that you will still be able to vote early.
looks like Atlanta is going to get some rain in the next day or two
Media/Dems desperation article.

yep you know they are doing some sort of prayer (whatever it is the cult of Marxism does) wishing for a big hurricane in that region.
Seriously. The writer working hard to drum up some drama
Absurd. People will go the next day.
Ridiculous reporting, the hurricane will “hit” 250 mi away in NOLA.
Might be some 30 mph fringe TS winds locally on the coast, but won’t affect things for long if forecast track stays the same.
. . . but won’t effect things for long if forecast track stays the same.
Thanks for your report.
I hope that forecast holds and early voting in Florida resumes quickly.
Moreover, prayers out to the beleaguered Gulf Coast residents who have been relentlessly battered by five or six hurricanes this season.
Nowhere near Florida. This is the liberal filth trying to shut down voting.
Here in S. Louisiana, local weather has never said the word “Florida”. Not even Alabama. It’s not touching Florida.
Granted I’ve seen hurricanes do some strange things over the years...but, no.
Libs must be absolutely terrified. And we need to make sure they stay that way!
