Romney was spot on about “The 47%”
At any given time, approximately 40% of Americans will dislike whoever is in the WH, no matter what party.
But beware of the Approve/Disapprove numbers, they can be misleading.
There will be people on both sides that ‘disapprove’ but for OPPOSITE REASONS.
One side will say he’s doing TOO MUCH and the other side will say he’s doing TOO LITTLE and the numbers of ‘disapproves’ will be inflated for that reason................
Biden’s back ahead in the head-to-head by 2% at 49-47. It’s going to see-saw all the way to the end.
Rasmussen always says the strong approve vs. strong disapprove is the most important number, and -2 is quite good for Trump. He was running at -3 to -8% in the week before the 2018 election. And he was at -15 to -20% for much of 2017.
49-47 within the margin of error. And meaningless in terms of the election. State polls are what counts. Hillary won the national popular vote by 2% (3 million votes) with CA giving her a 4 million vote cushion. Trump won the rest of the country by 1 million votes.
43% is the Clinton Base.
The key to the future is educating Americans that they have been lied to by both parties in their grab for power.
Trump can do that.
The true value of the Rassmussen approval/disapproval poll is mechanics: the continual use of the same polling methods over time. That minimizes bias. The absolute numbers may not be worth much, but the relative number, increase/decrease, can show long-term directional movement .
