A bit off the subject, but re Health Care. I swear the following is truth:
Twenty-five years ago had appendix just about to pop. Kinda hurt, so went to my doc same day. “You need to have that taken out. Go see Dr. X (surgeon), down the street. We’ll let them know you’re on your way.” (paraphrased) Walked half block to Dr. X. “Yep. We need to get that out.” He picked up phone, called hospital across street and explained situation, asking for an operating room. “No, no.. we need one much sooner than that. OK. OK, I’ll send him over.” I walked across the street, and they were waiting to prep me. Three and half hours later I awoke, sans appendix. I want that system again.
I want that system again.
Yep.. I remember too. From the moment I started my first real party time job at 16 in 1978, Ive had my OWN health insurance that covered everything and didnt cost much. (I bagged groceries).
Later that year I contracted cellulitis and spend 5 days in the hospital. Didnt cost us a dime.
Ive had this kind of great insurance with every job I had (no college, I just work for a living)
Then in 1992-93, I first heard the words healthcare CRISIS. What da?..
When government calls for action on a crisis that ISNT a crisis, you can bet theyre gonna stick their dirty hands in and DESTROY whatever it is...
Our healthcare system here in the USA is only bad because GOVERNMENT got into it.
