OTTAWA -- A former member of U.S. President Donald Trump's COVID-19 task force says the president was warned "very early on" about the severity of the virus but still went "out of his way" to "undermine" efforts against it.
"The president was told very early on that this virus would be worse than the flu," said Olivia Troye, former aide to Vice President Mike Pence, in an interview with CTV Question Period Host Evan Solomon airing Sunday.
"He specifically said, 'Is this worse than the flu?' He was told, 'Yes, it absolutely is. It spreads a lot faster, and it can be deadlier from what we're seeing'…He was warned."
She added that "he goes out of his way to undermine it and to say the pandemic, you know is going away that cases were going away."

Troye, once a homeland security official, was Vice President Mike Pence’s top aide on the White House coronavirus task force until she left in August 2020. While the lifelong republican contends she resigned, Pence's national security adviser Mike Kellogg asserts he fired her and escorted her off the compound.

Unfortunately, we have no choice but to still care about it for the time being. CoronaChestCold, and the ultra-inflated (in many cases double- or triple-recorded) B.S. "case" numbers are the reasons for all the lockdowns. And let's not even go into the idiocy of the mask mandates.
And I admit that I can't stop wishing that there would be some way, during Pres. Trump's 2nd term, he could just unilaterally declare the "national emergency" or whatever to be OVER. It would be even nicer if he could put subtle pressure on the governors to lift, rescind or outright cancel the mandates imposed by the various towns, cities, villages, & other municipalities.

I realize that it's probably not what it looks like, but something is starting to look decidedly wonky re VP Pence. Kind of ashamed to be feeling any suspicion at all about him.
Most likely, it's just another disgruntled former employee who's looking for 15 minutes of fame and/or notoriety.

Most people who work for politicians don’t necessarily agree with the politician they work for. It’s just something to put on a resume.

I suspect there’s more than one in Pence’s office, and Pence did a terrible job by letting Fauci take over.
Trump was right. If we’d just gone on with life, taken reasonable precautions, encouraged people to wash their hands more, improved interior ventilation, encouraged people to improve their health, provided an HCQ regimen or even encouraged more Vit D and zinc, we’d have been fine.
We missed a ton of great opportunities to improve life and make Americans healthier - including things such as improving NYC’s housing projects, which have high density and are dirty, congested and not much better than the TB-breeding tenements they replaced.
But reality and genuine health had nothing to do with this. It was all politics.

Pence also slammed his former aide.
“I haven’t read her comments in any detail, but it reads to me like one more disgruntled employee who’s left the White House and now has decided to play politics during an election year,” Pence said of Troye, in response to a question from a reporter. “I think my staff has indicated that she made no comments like that when she was serving on our team here at the White House coronavirus task force.”
Pence added he “couldn’t be more proud of the work we’ve done all along the way and the leadership that President Trump has provided.”
White House deputy press secretary Judd Deere said, “Outside of generally watching the White House Coronavirus Taskforce from the overflow staff room, this disgruntled former detailee was never in private meetings with the President and her assertions have no basis in reality and are flat out inaccurate.”
And Lt. Gen. Keith Kellogg, Pence’s national security adviser, said in a statement Troye was “disgruntled that her detail was cut short.”
“Ms. Troye directly reported to me, and never once during her detail did she every express any concern regarding the Administration’s response to the Coronavirus to anyone in her chain of command,” Kellogg said.
Troye’s video was released by Republican Voters Against Trump, a GOP group seeking to defeat Trump in November....
Wonder how much was she was paid for the video?

I remember. The infection was spreading like wildfire in various countries, but the WHO and the CDC kept saying, it is NOT a pandemic, it will not affect the USA.
They (medical organizations) also said that the mortality rate was low, and that the general public should not wear masks, only medical personnel.
The government (Trump) was advised NOT to close the border and was later criticized for doing so.
The medical advise was SO BAD that President Trump decided to remove the USA from the World Health Organization.
Who was telling Trump about how deadly the virus was? All reports indicated the number of cases and mortality rate in China were very low (the Chinese were lying) Thank God Trump listened to his instincts!, ignored medical advice to the contrary and decided to close the border to infected countries.
Besides, the President gets conflicting advice from a large group of people. If twenty professional tell him the virus is no problem, and it will blow over, and one advised him it’s deadly, and then (against the majority) President Trump decides to take precautions, how in the world is he going to get blamed supposedly because he ‘knew’ how deadly the virus was?

Olivia Troye's world is very narrow....every time President Trump said anything positive about a drug for the virus, it was immediately weaponized by the Liberals and the Left. This President has done a good job in spite of the Bureaucrats who run this country, he has cut through that fog in record time. Even now Pelosi and her mob don't want success with this virus or anything else that is good for America.
