A cloth mask filters 65-85% of airborne particles that carry the virus.

What happens to the viruses in the 65-85% of particles that are trapped in the mask? Especially the liquid aerosol particles. Let's say a very small droplet containing many viruses is trapped in the mask fibers. As this droplet evaporates where do the viruses go? Do they drop to the ground? Are some expelled by the breath? Are some inhaled by the inward force of breathing?

Is it possible that a mask collects and concentrates virus by collecting airborne particles which would otherwise be dispersed? Might such a concentration of virus than be inhaled through the mask?

From all that I have read (in scientific journals) masks do little to nothing to prevent viral infection. If worn too long before replacement, they might actually enhance chances of infection.

Wearing a mask is a placebo. It if makes anyone feel better, then wear one. I remain dubious.

“As this droplet evaporates where do the viruses go? “

After 24hrs on cotton fabric, it’s dead.
