“As this droplet evaporates where do the viruses go? “

After 24hrs on cotton fabric, it’s dead.

You’re up early. Thanks for the quick reply. The great mask debate will go on. Have a good one.

... but during that time as the mask dries out (because the wearer is not aware that once it has been contaminated the mask needs to be replace immediately) it will, as does any non-HEPA dry filter, dry out and unload the residual including the virus particles either deep into the mask zealot's lungs when they inhale or through the mask into the surrounding area as they exhale. (All of this presumes that when the masker coughs or sneezes into the mask rather than, as I have observed several times, they lift the mask away from their face to cough or sneeze then reattach it ... I mean, who wants to reattach something to their face when it's loogie-loaded, hmmmm?)

Then again, this is the only positive thing about mask-wearing: It gives still-irrationally frightened people the courage and feeling of "safety" to venture outside their homes and be around other human beings where, because the mask (because of the way nearly everyone who wears one improperly selects, applies/fit tests, wears and/or maintains it), has little to no effect on stopping transmission of something as infinitessimally small as a virus, the mask-wearers help spread the virus and participate (although unwittingly) to build widespread immunity ... a very socially responsible thing to do. Cheers!
