It's one of those seemingly hard-to-explain things: President Donald Trump holds an allure for some Black men, despite his history of denigrating Black Americans and his refusal to explicitly acknowledge systemic racism.
This relationship was on display on Monday, when the rapper 50 Cent said to "vote for Trump" in response to Democratic nominee Joe Biden's tax plan. At the Republican National Convention in August, speakers including the former NFL star Herschel Walker and South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott lacquered Trump with praise. With the 2020 presidential election coming down to the wire, it's clear that Team Trump is hoping to maximize its appeal with Black voters. During the final debate on Thursday, NBC's Kristen Welker asked Trump and Biden if they understand why Black parents have to give their children "the talk" about how to handle encounters with the police. The President said yes -- before he quickly moved on and claimed to be "the least racist person in the room," a response that was at odds with his track record and that failed to reflect that he truly understands anything about the Black experience.

CNN is working overtime cleaning up Joe’s debate crackup.
“...despite his history of denigrating Black Americans”
Just one example.... ONE!
I'll say it for you CNN -> "'Some' black men are not REALLY capital B black if Trump appeals to them."
Imagine being a CNN reader/viewer. Outside of school teachers nearing retirement and GOPe politicians, who actually watches it? I guess it’s on at airports or something.
CNN getting the excuses ready for the Democratic election bloodbath.
Because nothing says yer a racist like fostering the best employment conditions for people of color this nation has ever seen.
Teh, the claim falls flat for many white liberals dressed in black and burning down black communities because “black lives matter”
I know right. I guess that Ellis Island foundation just wanted to embarrass Rosa Parks & Mohammad Ali when they awarded DJT their trophies at the same time. /s
I have some relatives who actually watch it.
They are deeply brainwashed victims of the social justice warrior cult.
The benefit—I know a lot about the leftist zombie pathology, which I love sharing with folks around here. :-)
My recollection is that the founder of CNN, Ted Turner, uttered some really colorful remarks.
Ok, here’s one
“Poor kids are just as smart as white kids”
Plenty examples of Joe doing it
Trump dropped the ball here. He should have hit Biden with his “you ain’t black” comment, as well as his “all blacks think alike” comment. These statements could not be more racist.
“despite his history of denigrating Black Americans”
Didn’t someone once say that all you have to do is to repeat a lie over and over again and eventually most people will believe it?
Prior to running against Hillary, Donald Trump received awards for all the opportunities he provided to minorities at his businesses.
My son thinks it’s funny to turn on CNN while I’m working to see how long it takes me to notice. It looks like something from a 90’s movie projecting what television news will look like now. Even if they eliminated their bias, it would still be awful.
Now, now. The Democrats are offering 100% employment for blacks. There are agricultural jobs in the south that are a bit labor intensive but the job holders do not have to pick the seeds out any longer.
“...despite his history of denigrating Black Americans...”
A flat out lie. He calls out assholes, whatever their color.
“...and his refusal to explicitly acknowledge systemic racism.”
Systemic racism is a flat out leftist lie. Trump doesn’t acknowledge lies.
