Nathan, you may be right. But what if Trump is purposely not going in for the kill shot on China and the emails?
The public at large (NBC’s audience) doesn’t really know what that controversy is all about quite yet. It takes time for it to sink in.
Trump may be satisfied to hits some good points and come off as reasonable and self-assured, and competent. He’s trying to convince independents and people in the middle who have been watching NBC and only hearing what monster Trump is.
Besides, if the prosecutor comes down too strong, the jurors might feel sorry for the defendant and let him off.
This is my guess...
My In-laws. in their 80’s have no clue. They watch CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC and to them Trump is BAD! No reasoning with them
The King doesnt shove in the knife. His people do it.
Joe said enough for a perjury trap early. Let the rest of the emails out. You know they are out there.
POTUS was great to just mention the Hunter scandal. Joe is on record saying he never took a penny from any foreign country. Tomorrow more bombs drop...BOOM!
A major objective of this debate was to pierce the media veil protecting Biden from the perception of his corruption. Even his own surrogates made that point.
I take your point that a negative reaction for an overzealous prosecutor might be counterproductive, tone is very important as the first debate so terribly demonstrated. His tone in this debate is succeeding.
