“calling the debate a draw or at least one that will have little decisive influence on the election. “

everyone we talked on Friday who watched the debate agreed that Trump totally crushed it, and anyone who was TRULY undecided would have seen startling differences between trump and biden ...

“I’m amazed that Ann is a fan again!”

what do you expect from a nutjob? just like “Cheeto Boy” Glenn Beck flip-flopping ... i don’t pay attention to people like that anymore because they have no credibility ...

This from my Canadian buddy who's not an avid viewer of political debates and has nothing good to say about Trump...

"Watched first half hour of debate...was all i could stomach.
He said he said...you're a thief no you're a thief...you're a liar no you're a liar.
Lol not sure which one repulses me more. Biden came across as completely clueless"

Because of COVID, we're having to work remotely. My unit has instituted a ‘coffee break’ meeting each month where we can just do water cooler conversation.

I know 2 co-workers at least are libs so I try to avoid bringing up any topic that can skew political. One of those co-workers had some of her kids test positive for COVID this week and she was just livid. I noncommittally commiserated.

THEN someone asked if we had watched the debate last night (big news here since we're in Nashville). UGH!!! I work for the state government, so political subjects should be avoided in the best of times. She immediately responded ‘well, Biden OBVIOUSLY won!’. As calmly as I could I responded ‘that's open to interpretation’.

Luckily we got the subject changed pretty quickly after that.

China’s infiltration into our country and it’s institutions is pervasive...and we know this includes our Government where they have influence via politicians. Feinstein obviously was compromised...one easily wonders why she still has her seat.
Apologizes have no meaning at all.........Demorats use those frequently as their out after the fact. They know they do as they will and apologize later.

Any politician of long standing gets far to ‘comfortable’ in their positions.. falsely believing they are immune.

” She was fairer than I expected. And the best moderator this year—by a mile. “

totally agree ... she let trump have almost every rebuttal he requested and she asked biden SEVERAL questions that have been heretofore totally off-limits by the Pravada on the Potomac media, and a couple of questions of trump that on first blush looked like “gotcha” questions, were in my opinion, ones that seemed designed to give him a legitimate opportunity to explain some mud the Dems have been slinging his way, like the BS Chinese “bank accounts”, which had a simple and persuasive explanation (they were closed in 2015 when i quit looking for business in china) ... it’s a technique i saw sean hannity use over and over again with trump ...

furthermore, Kisten Welker was poised, NEVER snarky, arrogant or obnoxious, kept good control of the debate, but gave both candidates numerous opportunities to rebut and re-rebut, that is, actually debate ...

Very true. Here is New York State, nobody ever thought Mario Cuomo would be unseated, but he was, by Pataki. I would love to see the same thing happen to Andrew Cuomo. He thinks himself a leader and a hero. Just published a book about his greatness. It would be wonderful to have his delusional bubble burst.

And recycling those worn blades is apparently a pain in the ass. I think some people are thinking of ways to handle them, but last I heard, pretty much all you can do is bury them.

Little windmills have been used for a long time to generate small levels of energy. But I don’t think we ever bothered to figure out the ultimate ramifications of these gargantuan ones.

I’m a promoter of research into Solar energy. It’s not really reliable or useful now on any large scale, but if we keep trying to figure out how to capture and store that energy, it may be a great boon in the future.

After all, old Sol is the most powerful source of sheer energy within about 4 Light Years of our little blue Planet...

"but last I heard, pretty much all you can do is bury them."

I read that on one of the threads on FR not long ago. I think it was in relation to blades breaking in Iowa:

MidAmerican Energy takes 46 wind turbines offline after blades fall in rural Iowa
