Its been one year since President Trump, in coordination with U.S. Ambassador to Poland Georgette Mosbacher, invited the people of Poland into Americas Visa Waiver Program (VWP). The program allows Polish citizens to apply to travel to the United States for tourism or business purposes without obtaining a U.S. visa, a privilege extended to only a small number of American allies. What does this development tell us about Trumps foreign policy and the transatlantic relationship?
First, it reflects Trumps relentless focus on the American economy, even and especially in the making of foreign policy...
Second, it reflects the increasingly close relationship between Washington and Warsaw under the Trump administration. The VWP is not only about tourism and business due to the ease of exchange and travel under the VWP, designated countries must meet several requirements related to counterterrorism, law enforcement, immigration enforcement, document security, and border management. Polands inclusion in the VWP is therefore a testament to its rising special relationship with the U.S., and its ability to work with America on joint security priorities. Poland had been moving in this direction for some time but it was not formally recognized until the Trump administration and Mosbachers ambassadorship.
...Third, Polands inclusion in the VWP reflects its rising geopolitical power in Europe. As Germany prevaricates between NATO and Russia, and as France attempts a fully-fledged entente with Moscow, Poland has emerged as Americas strongest ally within the EU and NATO regarding the Russian threat. Trump has acknowledged Polands increasing significance within the Western alliance by proposing a relocation of thousands of U.S. troops from Germany to Poland and bolstering bilateral defense cooperation.

Good very good move and Poland is a better ally than Turkey .
In addition another good outcome of that foreign policy is that it will weaken the lie-beral globalist nasty E.U.

It sucks the life out of a civilization and then moves on.
The Visegrad group emerged from communism 30 years ago.
They do not want to return to the marxism supported by the rest of the EU.
They have resisted EU migration policy that has resulted in the beheadings of citizens.
US support for the Visegrad group is as important as our support of Israel.
However, the swamp creatures controlling the debate Thursday evening will not allow Trump to bring up his foreign policy successes. The whole 90 minute waste of time will be about his taxes and coronavirus.
Been to several of the eastern bloc countries through the years and the people of Poland are the best. In the city of Katowice they erected a statue of Ronald Reagan in the city square. Katowice was a regional headquarters for the SS. About 50 miles from Auschwitz. The Polish people hate the Russians far more than than the Nazis. Before the break off of the USSR it was mandatory to learn Russian as a second language. Now it is English. Employers normally will not hire if that person cannot speak English.
One time I was in Krakow and went to a park in the evening. This was in the mid-2000s. There were a group of 20 somethings in the park singing a song about freedom. It was a moving experience. At the same time I saw spray paint on buildings with a noose and Jew.
This should have been done at least 25 years ago. I have no idea why it wasnt. I remember Poles telling me about this and wondering why they should need a visa to travel to the US back in 2003 when I was last in Poland.
Igen! Biztos!
Trump should just ignore any questions asked and talk about hat he wants to talk about.
Poland is a great nation. Hard working people. Was at a boat show and I saw a boat built in Poland. Nice looking boats, too.
